Nygel Pearson’s playing and coaching roots began in South Carolina. After a stint working in North Carolina, Pearson is returning to the Palmetto State as the new football coach at Spring Valley High School. Pearson’s hire was approved at Tuesday’s Richland 2 school board meeting.
Make sense that he would go back to what he knows n where he is known so

Why wouldn't you. Don't think you have to teach and you get 100k plus just to coach football
Depends on which school. Most coaches still teach. But, yea it's easily a 20k raise. So, if a coach has 25 years experience in good ole NC, they make 54000 teaching. Down there with a masters and those years experience is probably 68K. Then another 10k for football coaching. So say minimum 78K. This is the way for NC coaches to get their due.
NR has had some very good coaches and always looks good on paper and getting off the bus. Hard to believe they haven't won a state football championship.
