Heading to Evanston for the Northwestern game and booked a hotel in Schaumburg Ill about 19 miles from the football field. Any suggestions on parking availability at the stadium or should we find another way to get to the game?

TIA

If you can get out on the Purple Line, the Central station is just a couple blocks from the stadium.

Looks like Schaumburg is just west of O'Hare. Blue Line goes to O'Hare, Green Line a little north of there. Take either to the Loop, then walk to the Red Line subway station, go north to the end of the Red Line (Howard), and hop on the Purple Line. Central is the second-to-last stop.

Went two years ago to the NW game. Had a blast. We tailgated in a parking lot on Northwestern's campus by the Lake with a big patch of grass. There were plenty of Husker fans there. There is a school bus shuttle to Ryan Field.

If only Northwestern put more money into their actual stadium now as much as their practice facilities. Oh, and lest I forget... the game experience would increase dramatically if they got rid of that ridiculously loud and annoying cat rawr.

We had never been to Chicago but went to the game two years ago. We stayed on he magnificent mile and used the rail line to get everywhere. It was easy to access and not difficult to follow.

I'm guessing I'll be at the game this year, no certain plans but I live a little over an hour away so I usually make the trip when we come to Evanston. We usually pay to park in one of the nearby lots (last year it was a school lot).

I'm not sure that this is the most efficient way to get there. You would have to take the Blue line from the airport to downtown and then transfer to a different line and head back north. It may take an hour and a half to two hours to do this. If your staying in Schaumburg, I would just drive there. You can get on Golf road and it takes you pretty much there and do it in about 45 minutes or so. Or if you don't want to drive, take the blue line to the appropriate bus station and then take bus routes to the game. Chicago transit has a website to help plan the best route.

Going with the crew again for the 3rd time. We're staying near Wrigleyville and we'll drive to the stadium. Last 2 years we've parked in the surrounding neighborhood, which is a beautiful walk to the stadium during the Fall.

Can't wait to see the Sea Of Red in Evanston. GBR

Thanks everyone for the replies. I think we will drive and locate a place to park. Kind of wish it wasn't at 11AM though.

GBR!

Evanston has some old laws on the book and they don't open or serve until noon (maybe 11am) just keep that in mind and make sure you have your stuff ahead of time.

That is one game where right now the opponent is favored, but I believe we beat the ever-living crap out of them.

If you are driving buy a parking pass on the golf course . Did that the last 2 games there and it works out but those games were night games this 11 am nonsense may make things worse

Will Clayton Thorson be 100% for 2018 season?

At Rotary, talked to a fellow Rotarian ahead of a program from new ISU president about Northwestern's team in 2018.

It starts and ends with the health of Clayton Thorson at QB and will the Wildcats get out of the blocks early at Purdue?

The 2018 B1G West season should be fun.

Been there a couple of times and to be honest, I think Northwestern has the best parking scheme for the fans. There are several parking lots identified in their parking scheme where a circulator bus swings by every 10-15 minutes, picks you up at your parking lot, and drops you off right in front of the stadium. After the game it’s the same deal, where hundreads of folks line up in front of the stadium and bus after bus ( must have been 20 of them) are lined up and you hop on and they take you to the various parking stops. It’s very organized and orderly. We left after the game and there were easily 300 or so people already lined up in front of us but we got on a bus in probably 10 minutes max and we’re on our way. Piece of cake.

I predict another Husker home (road) game, just like 2 years ago. Great environment, but too bad such and early game. We'll have to tailgate the night before.
