Can't let Michigan answer back with a run of their own. Keep battling!

Alex Olah is 3-for-4 with six points and four rebounds (2 offensive) so far in the second half after a 1-for-7, four-point, three rebound effort in the first. A Demps 3 punctuates a 9-0 run, trimming the lead to 37-34 at the first timeout

I hate losing to MIchigan. Between all their shiny happy graduates and Wal-Mart wolverines clogging up the express line at Meijer, it galls me.

Michigan leads 46-38 on the heels of a 9-4 run, despite hitting just two of their last nine field goals. Olah has eight points in the half, and Demps five as the two seniors have done all the scoring so far for the Wildcats. Another positive: Northwestern holds a 12-4 rebounding edge since halftime, the result of several Michigan misses.

Michigan leads 52-45 at the under-8 timeout despite shooting 29 percent from the field this half. Every time the Wildcats cut into the lead, Michigan seems to respond with a well-timed 3, as four of their five field goals have come from beyond the arc

I'd like to point out to the board that Willy trashes all types of NU players publicly....not just the former coach's as he's been accused
Thanks for the compliment. Not saying anything that others haven.t said about a couple of players. So get lost.

Nathan Taphorn scores the first non-olah/Demps/BMac points of the half on a free throw, then knocks down a 3 to cut the lead to 3. Olah then split a pair of free throws, before scoring on a beautiful inside-out spin move to tie the game at 52 with 5:25 remaining. Michigan hasn't scored in 2:35 of gametime, missing seven of its last nine shots as it has begun to really settle for contested jumpers

Olah missed an open elbow jumper, and Demps missed a five-foot floater going right. These are the shots Northwestern wants, it's just going to come down to whether they can make them coming down the stretch. Meanwhile, Zak Irivn nailed an elbow-jumper of his own off a back screen. 54-52 Michigan with 3:38 remaining

Despite some pretty egregious officiating, Northwestern finds a way to force overtime after Alex Olah hits a falling, fade-away put-back of a missed Demps jumper with 0.1 seconds remaining. He now has 20 points and 13 rebounds, single-handedly carrying this team to overtime

Tap had a wide open three at beginning of first possession of OT. We seemed to be content to run clock down and get a bad shot. I hate that.

They are playing 3 against 5 on the offensive end.

When the virus gets unleashed and all goes to hell, I hope the zombies converge on Ann Arbor and eat everything in sight.

I'd feel bad for Ann and everyone in the Arbor family if that happened.

But not too bad.

What a shame. They fought hard and mostly outplayed Michigan after the 16-3 start. Just couldn't keep Robinson from hitting those 3s.

Hoping this isn't the last game for these guys. Last year Collins made it pretty clear we were done after the BTT due to injuries. No such statement this year. Wouldn't mind a couple more nights of viewing the Cats.

I can't see any reason why we'd stop playing at this point. We're 20-12, played well down the stretch, tied for team record in victories, and have 2 pretty appealing options -- the NIT (unlikely) or the Vegas 16 -- which regardless of a stupid name, still has the allure of a week in Vegas that hosting a CBI game would never have.

A 15-17 team struggling down the stretch didn't really deserve the postseason. A 20-12 squad on the NIT bubble certainly does.

Willy's next positive comment about anything happening anywhere in this solar system will be his first.
