NU-UNL 42, NU-Chicago 21 -- and we also easily win the remaining games including the bowl game, which will get us to the usual 9 wins. (This is the kind of thinking that happens when you have arthritis and live in a state with legalized maryjane.)

Bad feeling Thorson will have a BIG game against our secondary and the offense will struggle against the NW defense.

Amazing how 1 game against an average team, makes everyone forget the previous 6 weeks. I guess that's what makes us the best fans in college football huh, always think we are the best. lol
I was happy to see us look better, gives me a bit of hope for the rest of the year. I do think we have a long way to go and 1 games just doesn't make all the problems go away instantly.
Lucky for us the is a home game which will help. It all depends which TA shows up, he had an overall very good game Sat. My gut is saying we lose this one in the final minutes again.

Nahhhh...Northwestern has had more injuries than virtually anyone in college football...and when it comes to depth we are the Grand Canyon compared to them. They are lucky to field a team some weeks.

NW sucks with depth because of academic requirements. We suck with depth because we had Bo.

I believe that the game will be decided in the 4th quarter. NW won't be able to run against us but their QB will put it in the air > 40 times. We will hopefully be able to run effectively and not have to get into a passing contest with NW. We need to control the clock to win. Their defense is ranked 18th in the country even with the blow out losses to Michigan and Iowa.

It's not just how we looked against Minnesota... It's how Northwestern has looked the last two weeks as well, losing by a combined 78-10, or something like that. Granted, it was against ranked opponents, but they do not look very good at the moment, leading to some positivity on our side.

We still have issues, but you better believe Northwestern also has issues. And since it's a home game, we are poised for a victory. I don't even want to guess a score, because I don't have a clue. But I do think we win.

NW has a terrible offense and can't throw the ball, that's what makes this so hard. We should win in a blow out, but I can also see their qb having the game of his life against us. Tommy has been good when there are not high winds. What is the weather supposed to be like?

Good weather- NU 42 NW 20
Bad weather- NU 17 NW 24

Currently Northwestern is 119th in the country in passing at 141.1 ypg, so my prediction is that they will not throw for over 325 yards. I do think they get to 275 yards, but I have not seen enough from the secondary and defense to lead me to believe they can controls anyone's passing game.
