But do you have hope, that you can become a believer.
You'll probably find something new to complain about even then.
Set us back from what exactly.....?I think stoops is going to set uk back a decade.
So, 1. you have NEVER believed in UK football (we have never been a consistent winner) 2. And NEVER had hope (since you don't hope) for the program.I don't hope for things. As for becoming a believer, I will believe WHEN the program starts winning consistently. Stoops is a first time head coach and is still learning. Can he become a good head coach? Time will tell.

So, with the above FACTS stated by you; your are by your statements not a UK fan.
obvious question is, "why are you here?"
well, maybe you should word things a little better...Your logic is astoundingly bad. I said we've never been a consistent winner and you claim that means I've never believed in UK football. I was ON THE TEAM so yeah, I think that counts me in as a believer. As for "hoping", that's just a waste of time and thought. I can't control how well the team does or how well it is coached and my "hoping" isn't going to make it better or worse. It is what it is. Sure, I want the team to succeed and I cheer for them but I don't waste my time on hope. If you don't like my posts, ignore them.
well, maybe you should word things a little better...
man, you are grumpy...
and your right...I shouldn't waste my time on your posts. I am wasting it on the hope (since, you nor I can control any facet of the team play) that Stoops can turn it around.
Couldnt have said it better myself. I'll give him credit for the turn around and the fact we can finally beat the terrible teams in our league. But if we dont beat one of UGA, UL, or UT. Then it would 100% be fools gold. Hell i honestly feel like we have to beat one of UL or UT for us to be sold on Stoops because UGA is a terrible team. As of now. We're a product of a very weak SEC slate. People will bash you for being truthful because the board is full of homers. But even the talking heads that get paid to do this have said all over the SECN that we're just beating up on terrible teams on that moment and we not yet beaten a quality opponent (some might say USC is a quality opponent but look at the QBR of the QB we faced and the QBR of the QB now). We have to beat a quality opponent with a winning record before we anoint Stoops king. Which is something that hasnt happened in years. We haven't beaten a winning team in a long time now. I think we will this season. But it has yet to happen. We have to beat a quality opponent with a winning record before we call Stoops our savior. Those who disagree have zero knowledge of the game.Could the Cats success be fools gold? We have beaten the down teams in the league. Most of the games played at Commonwealth.
I will be 100% bought into Stoops if we beat Georiga and play Tennessee and UL well.

So if Stoops can't beat one of UGA, UT or UL then the turn-around we have all seen is fools gold? I hate to tell you, but going 6-6 with the improvement we have seen from the beginning of the year is a success, especially after the first 2.5 games. The team is getting better on both sides of the ball and on the sideline. There's no denying that.
UGA, UT and UL all have more talent than us. That's not a question a question either. We will be an underdog in all three games. To say this improvement or Stoops is fools gold because we lose three games we are supposed to lose (on paper/in Vegas) is ignorant, though based on some of your takes in the past I can't say that I'm surprised.
So sHould you geezI think stoops is going to set uk back a decade but the OP is a known troll. Won't respond directly. He should've been banned years ago.
We've been dogs in all our SEC wins.. How does that translate to games we are supposed to win? USC and Vandy are both 4-4 but if they had beaten us they'd be 5-3 and easily destined for a bowl.. Instead we pulled out close games and rather than this being just another year we are the ones at 5-3 and in a position to make this a really special season.. Some people just don't want to be happy about uk football……So just to play devil's advocate here, what happens if next year UK comes out and looks like crap the first 2 games but then "turns things around" and goes 6-6, will you be happy? And if every year we only beat the teams we're supposed to (on paper), that will make you happy too? Guess .500 is good enough for some people..

Well... Damn lol.. Hmm home field is supposedly worth 3 points so it was basically a push? :grimace:Were were 2 1/2 point favorites over USCjr and 3 point favorite over Vandy.

I simply can't understand this mentality. Either your a cat or not ? Not any middle ground here. I've been coming to football games since 72,season tickets since 75 and I've seen some good football and bad. However I never had to be convinced to believe in my team. Unconditional love for my cats!!!Could the Cats success be fools gold? We have beaten the down teams in the league. Most of the games played at Commonwealth.

I agree. While Saturday isn't technically a must win, it would be the biggest win in Stoops tenure so far. We would finish at the very least 7-5 and would finish with a winning SEC record I do believe.I understand skepticism but cmon, we would lose games like the one we had against Mississippi state. We won. Saturday is huge for us. I'm not going to say the following week is yet because we got to get past the dawgs
The whole point of this thread was about lack of belief in Stoops, not the team.
Understood. I think what some of the Stoops detractors fail to realize is that Stoops himself has fixed some of the things that make/made people feel the way they do about him.
Nobody can argue that he isn't a very good defensive coach, his track record speaks for it's self. He has taken a more active role in the defense and it has steadily improved.
The in game issues from the previous year or two don't seem to be there this year either.
Let's not forget that this is his FIRST HC job and it's a much different job than being a coordinator. He has been learning as he goes and he has corrected mistakes. I'm not saying he is the next Nick Saban or close to that, but he's a good young coach (in terms of HC experience).
Yes, I agree with you. I thought there would be a learning curve and thought he would correct some things more quickly than he did. Pulling the reins from DJ was huge, IMO. Some of us just wanted to see him take charge more quickly and when that didn't happen, doubts arose.
Getting good is a process, not a single event.
Yes, and SCAR beat UT.....That does NOT translate to us beating UT.....never does! SCAR always plays UT to the wire....the team we beat, beat the team we're playing next week looks good on paper, but rarely translates to the field. I hope I am wrong.....but I don't think we beat UT this year.....Those crappy teams we beat just beat Georgia and tennessee. Soooo.....
