A Mustang is a rear wheel drive sports car. They diluted the heritage to sell an electric crossover SUV.

Does a car have to have good acceleration to be a sports car? Because I bet you the electric Mustang has better acceleration than a non-electric one. I've never been in one but I've read they have crazy acceleration.

SUV? WTF?

Congress needs to step in. No way private businesses should be allowed to name their vehicles. Especially if it rustles the jimmies of True Patriots.

Why? People just keep saying stuff but they don't say why.
I can’t stand musclecars or the culture of them.

I’m guessing the answer is what Mustang’s are traditionally known for. American muscle cars. This is a soccer mom car.

Yeah, but what does it identify as?

That really is the key question. Who are we to define its identity? (I'm assuming its personal pronoun is "its," my apologies if I'm mistaken.)

Ford is calling it a Mustang, but it has the look of one in the front and is a modern day SUV after that. It's a Mustang but looks nothing like previous Mustangs. Looks nothing like a muscle car.

You can tap it, but good luck securing one! They're going to California (primarily) and Virginia/DC area first since those areas are designated as "high demand" EV markets. Other dealers who want to put in orders will be placed on a "priority list" and will be allocated based on annual sales of EV in total, including those of competitors in their markets.

As production ramps us, more will become available, but you could still be waiting 3 to 4 years before they're easily obtained, if you can afford them. Typically when a hot model like this hits showroom floors in limited supply, desperate deep pocket Dealers bid up the prices to be among the first to get them and build floor traffic from the extra "buzz". These models may quickly have 10-to-15K added to their already high MSRP simply because of high demand and low supply.

It's technically a luxury sport crossover.

Since we have this thread, anyone here have an EV? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

"LSX" Luxury Sport Crossover. New vehicle. Given "Mustang" badge since that's the most popular nameplate in automotive history. Ford's unique branding. You don't have to ask if it's a Ford cause it's a Pony.

To me, this is reminiscent (if not physically as big) of the BMW X6 and Benz GLE Coupe......two vehicles (the X6 expecially) I always felt were answers to a question nobody ever asked.

It's definitely a "niche" vehicle. Not recommended for Wife and three kids.
