Whenever anyone tries to post anything the resident trolls charge in and attack the poster and derail the thread.

YouTube is a better source for breaking news. The comments sections on 365 sic'em and others are much better too. Couz's corner, John Kurtz, The Monty Show, Winning Cures Everything. All pretty good. Depressed Ginger and the Gold and Blue Dude are pretty awful. The longest threads here are personal grudges and pissing matches.
BGN had good discussion, just not much of it. Unlike this site, trolls were dismissed quickly.
I was a paid subscriber for years, but bailed out after the umpteenth inappropriate post on the Blue Lot. The politicization was bad enough, but the the tolerance for blatant hate mongering was when I decided to stop paying for content. (And before anyone jumps on me as some bleeding heart liberal, I've been a Republican for years. It's just that I believe respect and decency is a reasonable ask in public forums.)
Sure I've been coming on to this board a bit lately, and I do miss the BL for many who's interactions I enjoyed, but to your point the lack of moderating at all finally pushed me away. It's unfortunate for sure.
