it's a real simple answer - abortion is legal...it's the law of the land. I think you can be pro-life and still recognize that abortion is legal and it's what the people want. Now that doesn't mean you can't try and sway people away from abortion.

You can talk about abstinence and it will reach certain people who follow that route. You can talk about protection because no mater how much you talk about abstinence, people are still going to have sex and it would be much better if they used some form of birth-control. You can talk about adoption for those folks that can't seem to grasp the idea of birth control. There are options that will lead to the same goal if that goal is less unwanted pregnancies that might lead to abortions - and that should be the goal of the conservatives/GOP...less unwanted pregnancies leading to abortions. They have to learn (but haven't) that they are never going to win on banning abortion outright.

too bad he didn't answer it like that..if HC is indicted, House of Cards would seem more realistic than this mess of an election.

I think VEEP is the most realistic.

I never understood the "WE HAVE TO DEFUND PLANNED PARENTHOOD" cry.
The majority of their work is to try to prevent unwanted pregnancies in the first place.

If you're pro-life ... don't get an abortion
If you're anti-gay marriage ... don't marry somebody of the same sex
If you're anti-drug ... don't do drugs
If you're anti-gun ... don't buy a gun

Is that so complicated?

For the GOP, it's just another effigy to burn to rally the masses.

Not complicated at all. The defunding question is if the government should pay for abortions. Are you ok with government funding for drug and gun providers? Of course you are not. If abortion was about a legitimate health issue I would be in favor of gov funding. You and I both know that abortion is 99% about birth control. If someone wants to get an abortion I have zero issue with it.

I think it was fairly well established that the government wasn't paying for abortions. Or at least I thought it was. Maybe a miniscule amount of the overall funding goes to abortions. If they want to defund THAT part of it, sure, I get that and probably agree with it. But defunding the whole organization is just going to lead to more unwanted pregnancies. IMO

Do you have any idea what PP charges for an abortion? I don't know what it is or if they even charge for one.

Rog, I agree. Women are going to want abortion available as much as men want their guns. Just going to piss people off when either is brought up.. Need to stop getting pulled into that bottomless pit.

I don't. On Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Ramone had to come up with $75 and provide a ride, so I think it was $150. :)
I don't know if it varies by location or whatever, but I seem to recall $300 being mentioned someplace.
