They lost to teams 100 times worse then us? Have you looked at their schedule? I would assume no based on this thread.

Warrants repeating now just as it did last week when the dumbasses talking about 7 wins were chirping:

Charlotte is much, much better than EKU, and FCS EKU manhandled us. Sure, we might beat Charlotte. We might even beat L'ville. But the odds are lot higher we go 4-8 than we go 6-6. Charlotte is not a gimme, no team on our schedule has been a gimme.

Actually, EKU is quite a bit better than Charlotte. They are about 60 spots up on them in the computer rankings and would be a 12 point favorite over Charlotte on a neutral field. If we can't beat this team, and beat them badly, then this might be a worse team than the 2012 team. Even that team pounded Kent St. and Samford.

This team shouldn't have lost to Auburn, no team should lose to Vandy. But we did both. EKU beating up the Austin Peay's of the world doesn't impress me much. You can't compare numbers for an FCS team playing an FCS schedule to what they would do against an FBS team. I know they've only just started their team on any level, but their numbers obviously are going to look worse than EKU's, Charlotte plays football against football teams.

The only sure things on our schedule are losses, everything potential win is a game we've got to play well in.

Charlotte is a win...the question is whether it will be confidence building - can we blow them out, put up 50 or so points and get the offense in a good place before the UL game?

Lots of QB talk of course for us but the entire team needs to show up. I will be interested to see if Stoops has everyone motivated and fired up and most importantly focused.

These guys should be self-motivated, if not they have no business in college athletics.

As critical as I have been about the coaching staff and the team this year....I agree. UNCC in their current state would have no hope of making the 24 team FCS playoffs if they were FCS. Several dozen FCS teams (including EKU) would dominate them. We should win by about 50. If we lose.....truly......all is lost.

I agree that there is a major different between FBS and FCS, but Sagarin already takes that into account when calculating things and EKU is still way ahead of Charlotte. There are actually about five or six FCS teams rated ahead of UK and my guess is that any of them would probably beat UK at this point. But, Charlotte, while technically FBS, is rated 199th among all Division 1 teams, dead last in FBS and behind dozens of FCS.

I am not pointing this out the pump sunshine; instead, it's to emphasize how ridiculous a loss or even a EKU type win against this team would actually be.

Plain and simple, I don't think we should criticize Charlotte or talk trash. They're simply new to D-1 football and as hard as it may be to believe their program isn't built to beat a team like us yet...... as bad as we are. Can we be beat -- sure, but we should be able to beat them handily. I think we're about a 24 point favorite and as discouraged as I am with our football situation I still think we win this one pretty easily.

Charlotte lost to UT San Antonio last week. UTSA is a new program like Charlotte by a couple years. The Roadrunners have enjoyed a bit of success the last few years, but continue to struggle building their program. UTSA would give UK more competition than Charlotte.

Former Miami HC Larry Coker is the HC at UTSA.

I don't think there is really any chance of us actually losing to Charlotte...but a bad win that is sloppy, or we are inept on special teams or clock management again, could really have us in a bad place for the Louisville game.

What we need is a solid, basic gameplan. Have some drives, get a lead, run the ball and execute blocks and tackles. We need to have our heads right for the following week.

Because they are a third year program who hasn't beaten anyone. EKU would beat them by double digits.

We are favored by 24 points. I really don't think there is any way we lose to Charlotte. The Cats just need to focus on building some confidence, and we will be playing for bowl eligibility against little brother.
