We really aren't much of an offensive team this year. 9th in the conference in points, 10th in FG%,10th in 3 pt. %, 7th in O and D rebounds. It would be great to get that fixed.

Why are we winning? 2nd in points allowed, 1st in defensive FG%, 2nd in blocks, 1st in assist to turnover ratio, 4th in turnover margin.

Good coaching and hard work can getterdunnnn, but more post play chances could really help our percentages inside (maybe not against Purdue) and get more kick-out open 3s. Maybe it's time to free Pardon from his near solitary confinement in the post? Just a thought.

This is going to start to improve. Our best games are ahead of us, given that Lindsay is back! Floor will seem like it's more spaced out, bench will feel longer!

Pardon doesn't seem comfortable taking shots outside the post. It would be great if he started taking (making) 2 or 3 shots from 10-12 feet out.

The offense creates a decent amount of open 3s (I think we're #2 in the BIG on number taken), they just haven't been making those open shots.

In terms of why we're winning, don't forget our free throw percentage - winning those down to the wire games we have lost in past years (and free throws could have won the MD game if we'd made a little better than our average iirc).

True about free throws. A solid 3rd in the conference. I don't recommend expecting much from Pardon at mid-range. We've seen him take a few and clang nearly all of them. Anyway, there's always the Iowa game to try to emulate. Let's do that against Illinois.

I like the idea of getting Pardon a few more touches in the post per game. He's impressed me with what he's been able to do so far with those little baby hooks with either hand down there. Not hugely complex moves, but nice touch around the basket. I don't think we should structure our whole offense around it, but if we increased it from ~3 post up possessions per game to ~5-6 (guessing at the #s), I think it could help take some focus off of BMac, Lindsey, and Law.

Pardon has two more years to develop. I'd bet big money we will see it eventually.

It wasn't that long ago that a 6th grade girls team could score 20 on us! We've an incredible distance defensively. Just incredible.

And it also wasn't long ago that NU couldn't score 20 on a 6th grade girls team!

When we were running the 1-3-1 defense they would definitely have outrebounded us!
