would be a solid get for this program in general, and offense specifically...

real nice list of schools taking interest in him...

need to start winning and continue to be productive on offense to have a shot...

Unbelievable how so many are complaining about Stoops, yet for the first time I'm my lifetime we have people complaining about a recruit like this considering us.

Not complaining about the recruit merri.

But let's face it, wr's and db's are plentiful.

Programs that win games recruit the trenches and we desperately need line help.

We could have a dozen 5 star wr's but if the line doesn't block or stop the other offense it won't matter.

Besides, you understand the sarcasm in this thread I don't need to explain it to you. Homer and chastise all you want but even you know where our weaknesses are and that's the point.

I know we need line play, but I am not going to complain about getting a talented kid. One that in years past wouldn't even give us a chance.

The line is the hardest position to recruit for a reason. All schools need more of them.

The underlying animosity is that 4 years in and we cannot produce a line capable of handling smaller schools on either side of the ball with undersized and less touted players.

In fairness, I think our line the last few years have been up to par with the majority of the lines we have had in the past. This year has been bad even for our standards, but I think it is due to youth due to losses unforseen as coaches can't see the future.

If Stoops would have gotten Secretariat as a two year old he would have ended up at River Downs running in $5,000 claiming races.

After 4 years we should have some semblance of depth.

As to comparing to our past? We have a past of 6 straight losing seasons - being up to par with our past is not good enough.

That is the point so many are trying to make, why do so many settle for mediocrity or less?

This mentality is why so many are praising Jurich.

He fired Cooper after he couldnt succeed in 3 years.

He fired Kragthorpe after 3 years and the guy had 15 wins.

Our guy is a 1/3 of the way through year 4 with only 13 wins, and we are trending down.

In year 4 we have a loss to a CUSA team with a huge lead at home, one of the more embarassing losses to Florida in a while, and just gave up 500 yards to horrible Sunbelt team.

Are any of these numbers up to par?

#121 Opponents yards per game
#116 Opponent rushing first downs per game
#114 Points given up per game
#110 Opponents rushing yards per game.
#87 Scoring Margin (UL is #1)

I wonder why they're complaining? Maybe it's because he's not what we need? He helps on no way, we need a front 7 and the last 4 years stoops has done nothing to build a front 7. You're the definition of delusional. Why would we be happy about this when our defense is as terrible as it is with a 'defensive specialist' coaching our roster???

The fact that you don't think that we need good talent in EVERY spot on the roster is idiotic. Yes, Stoops needs to build the lines better. But if there aren't enough recruits out their to be quality enough to receive an offer on the lines, then you don't turn away this type of talent, for a reach on the line. At that point, you are bad in both positions.

Our lines aren't even serviceable...maybe that's due to the lack of coaching. There's no way we should look this bad against teams like USM or NMSt.

I watched the replay of the NM St game and Jesse Palmer kept saying we were getting whipped on both lines. It was pathetic. But it's been that way since Stoops got here and apparently he's ok with it because he's kept those guys around.

In contact with several 2 star players? ..Wow how exciting..That means that Kent State, Bowliing Green and every DII school must not be interested in them..
