Anyone notice in the first half when Caleb didn't pass it into Cliff initially when he had great position and then passed it into cliff (on the same possession) when cliff caught it about 18 ft from the basket? The end result was not pretty.

No one is allowed to shoot and also he'll start throwing chairs onto the court every game.
“Coach, how do you explain the 15 shot clock violations today?”

“You know, the guys on the Knight Report, they do a really great job, one of the best message boards in the league, but there’s only two guys that they’re still allowing to shoot the ball.”

Please watch all possessions where Caleb shoots or drives and tries to shoot. It has to stop. Will he stop the blatant hook when he drives to the hole? He's also has to value the ball more. He shouldn't be leading the team in TO's.

Why are we feeding cliff in the post? What's his shooting percentage if it isn't a dunk? It's brutal. Why are guards passing it to him when he doesn't have excellent position. He shouldn't be catching the ball 12-14 feet from the basket.

Please stop letting the guys shoot deep 2's.

The team is offensively challenged. They can't afford to essentially throw away 10-12 possessions a game.
Then who is actually going to shoot the ball?

NYC,

Should Caleb lead the team in shots in a game (tied with cliff tonight)? I think everyone would agree that the answer is no. Caleb has to keep the ball moving. Him trying to go ISO is a killer for our offense. The announcer even rightfully commented about how he was going to dribble the leather off the ball on his first drive where he actually scored.

Pike needs Paul to hunt the three-point shot a little bit more. Too often he's not even thinking about catch and shoot when he's around the 3 point line. We need paul taking at least a total of 10 shots per game. When Paul has the ball in his hands, there is a greater chance of Cliff getting an easy bucket.

I think Hyatt is playing within himself on a more consistent basis as the season has gone on.

McConnell had a mismatch on him most of the night. Did he take a few bad shots? Sure, but they were trying to take advantage of the mismatch and it didn’t work. It’s not like Caleb is going against the game plan. They needed him to score and his shots didn’t fall for the most part.

Caleb is bad at making decisions offensively
Doesn’t understand spacing or timing.
Fails to make easy passes like quick ball reversals and doesn’t do stuff like drive and kicks Must be horrible to play with on offense

He’s good enough defensively and rebounding to be a decent player despite that
I’ll bet part of why he came back is because Pike told him he could shoot more and we have to live with that

Disagree with not understanding spacing or timing. He's shown that he's a good drive and kick player and has made some sweet passes to guys open on the wing or at the top of the arc.

He disrupts the flow of the offense the ball dies in his hands. He sometimes makes the right pass but more frequently holds the ball or dribbles
He has driven and kicked just far less often than average offensive players who play his position and have the ball in their hands as much as he does

Yes. This happens all the time. For whatever reason Cliff occasionally gets good position and we either swing the ball away from him or wait and wait and wait to throw the entry pass and Cliff gets pushed further and further out

There is really no point giving Cliff the ball if he gets pushed too far out. He won't be able to score

That's a good example of what I say about Caleb on the offensive end. Bad at reading situations and making decisions.

If pike said we'll get u shots (I can understand that), then he has to put Caleb in a good position to have success. Get him the ball on the low block 3-4 times a game. When a guy isn't trying to set up on the low block every possession (the 5 spot), it's easier to catch the defense sleeping and have Caleb get to a good spot.

Mag had been doing a good job of picking his spots and playing within himself. Caleb needs to do the same.

This is 100% on pike.

Hopefully he has time to read your notes after watching video of the IU game and scouting Illinois game next!

Fine, now you weigh in. And where were you with the life advice he needed before going off the rails with all those women?
I advised him to go off the rails with a lot of women. Otherwise all those years practicing putting would be a waste. I also remembering advising him to "use your driver" when he was leaving the hotel on the day of his accident.

oh, and why in god's name has this dead thread been resurrected?
