Why wouldn't the PAC-12 be close to the other conferences? If they win their conference shouldn't they be on par with any other P5 conference?
Sorry my point was that the Pac 12 has no team recently dominating like OU/Clemson/and tOSU to a lesser extent. Of course ‘Bama is in their own stratosphere that everyone else can only dream about.

If we keep winning a Conference titles, we’ll be fine.

You think? I don't know....probably, but our national rep will be one of not being able to win the big games on a national level when it matters. Kinda like our long losing streak in big games under Stoops.

Well when you only win one title in 18 years, that's going to happen. When LR reaches a plateau of a few more years w/o a Natty, I'll get to bitchin'. But until then, the media and non Sooner fans can bite me.

It was more than just winning 1 title. It was the fact that we played for several more and lost them all. I do agree though that does seem like ancient history now. I don't know if this is the year, but it could happen. Can't wait til tomorrow night!

If its true what the OU Players and Coaches say "You come to OU to win Championships" then they need to put up or shut up.
Nothing short of winning it all this year will do it for me. (In the past people on here have been called a Spoiled Fan for saying things like that:D)
As for all the talk about the Defense and how bad it is I doubt it has pissed the guys off too much, they have been hearing it for a while now and its not just a knock on OU's defense but on the Conference as a whole, we are called a Garbage Conference, Arena Ball and the No Defense League. Until a team from the Big 12 can Win a National Title expect it to continue.
On a side note, at least Bob is no longer the HC, if he were all we would hear from the talking heads would be about what he said about the SEC and I am sure it has come up but I don't watch them to know if it has or not or it will be brought up during the game for sure.

I havent watched a single CFB program on ESPN leading up to this game. Made a vow to stay away from them until game time. I will watch the Clemson - ND game but I am muting the announcers that way I dont shout out something in front of my grandchildren.

Agree with WNAS. The only possible negative I see is if Bama severely slows down our offense, then the "experts" will say that the numbers were just inflated because of Big XII defenses. But everybody expects Bama to drop 50 on us. Everybody expects Bama to wipe the floor with us. But even all the "experts" still think we'll put up a minimum points in the high 30s.

Some need to start taking the opinions of media people less serious.
My issues with ESPN don't involve it's pundits not claiming OU is the greatest team in history each season. I just don't like the liberal catering and political correctness that has become part of that network's "DNA".

Who is taking them seriously? The talk here is perception. And just about everybody I know only watches live broadcasts on ESPN.

Pretty much this. The only ones I see in this thread that are taking the media serious are the ones concerned w/ a loss and the perception of what others think/say.
