Trump may not be guilty of collusion, but he sure as hell acts like it.

"The White House is not flatly denying that Donald Trump is considering firing Robert Mueller as the Justice Department’s special counsel investigating Russia’s election meddling."

Innocent people have nothing to hide and welcome investigations. As President, he should welcome and encourage as many investigations as possible to get to the bottom of Russia meddling in our election.

I wonder why trump hasn't asked so many questions of the various intelligence agencies?

There are 26 Senators on the Armed Services Committee. Those 26 members were asked if they had met with Russian officials within the last year. 20 of the 26 responded and those 20 who responded all said that they had not met with Russian officials. But Senator Session did.

Hmmm, strange.

I don't like Meuller's appointment. He and Comey are much too close. Trump fired Comey. Comey illegally leaked information to the media the full extent of which we don't know. Comey could become the subject of the investigation. Meuller is not independent. Having said all of this, it would be a major mistake for Trump to fire Meuller. At the proper time, if Comey becomes a subject of an investigation, Congress should intervene along with DOJ to get Meuller to recuse himself. You can't investigate your friend. The American people would not trust the result.

I think trump has donated lots of money to democrats.

Solid logic.

And thanks for making my point. Less than one month ago, Mueller was a "superb choice." Now he is corrupt.

Gingrich changed his mind based on who Meuller hired for his staff, a staff full of Dem donors.

I initially thought Meuller was a good choice until his good friend may become a subject of the investigation. Major conflict.

Many on his staff have also been reported by CNN to be huge Democrat donors. One of them it was reported donated the maximum amount to Hillary's campaign.

Appearances aside, how can they have any integrity if half the folks think they have a political bent going in? An independent counsel is supposed to be free from political influence. No one can make the argument this staff is objective. Comey is "BFF" with the lead Counsel!

If you look back at special prosecutors, no one knows where the investigation will lead. We now know Comey leaked at least one time to the NY Times. Did he leak on other occasions. If Meuller is investigation leaks to the media, as he should, Comey might become a target of the investigation. Major conflict for Meuller to investigate his very, very good friend.

We should just get Trump to investigate. He's obviously the only person now associated with government that has any integrity.

countryroads89, you're a Female?

I'm shocked...stunned even. I always thought those "Sugartits" jibes at you were a running joke making fun of your often effeminate emotional responses to various topics. I always thought of you as some type of "metrosexual" sensitive spineless cowered hen pecked politically correct Male?

You're actually a Woman??????:scream:

I'm speechless.

It'll be not-so-independent counsel. We're used to that. Then when they still find nothing maybe. Just maybe. They'll shut up.

Who am I kidding?
Nothing there, but seems like many are positioning to deny his findings based on partisanship though

You're right. What am I thinking, they're all Big Government bureaucrats. Their allegiance is not to the Truth, it's to their Lord and Master...Leviathan.

Again Boom, look back at history. There are no limits on what he can investigate. The investigation can go and almost always does in different directions.
Sure, if you want the investigation to lead away from what one was appointed to investigate and go into another subject all together.

I just don't like that the entire reason for an independent counsel is to come up with something. They won't be empty handed. Someone will be delivered on a silver platter to justify their existence, no matter whom it may be.

It will, if it hasn't already. It won't take long for them to determine collusion isn't on the table, and that Trump physically can't be guilty of obstruction of the FBI in that manner as the president. Manafort and Page need to like, leave the country or something.

Damn countryroads89, you've absolutely stunned me here!

The other day when I posted that pic of Stephanie Acevedo I think I saw you comment in one of the threads that she indeed looked hot you? You posted something like "gigitty gigitty...or something like that if I remember correctly.

I thought to myself, hey countryroads89 at least has an eye for the "cuties with the bootys"

Why would a Woman comment on that pic like that?

You have a Husband?

Talk to me.....

What? Leaks to the media about Russian/Trump collusion (re: NY Times articles) are not relevant? Are you kidding me?
The information leaked? Yes. The truth of the information. Mueller was not appointed to "catch" or plug leaks for the WH. He was appointed to discover the extent of Russian interference, and if there was any involvement by the Trump campaign apparatus or administration. Investigating whether Comey "leaked" or didn't "leak", if the information he "leaked" was privileged or not, or whether charges should be filed against Comey.....all of that is irrelevant to his investigation. IF the information was true, IF the WH was interfering with the FBI investigation...all ARE relevant. There's a major difference. Nothing is stopping the DOJ from filing charges against Comey right now, if he broke the law.

That happened with Valerie Plamme (sp?) They knew early on in that so called " independent" investigation who the real leaker was and they just nailed her to make a point.

Full disclosure, some days I refer to country as a guy, some days as a woman. Won't ever admit he's a man, so I play both sides.

Well which is it?

If countryroads89 is a Woman, there are certain things I just won't post in a thread to her out of simple respect for Chicks.

I don't want to be a creep, even if countryroads89 is a far Left ideologue.

I don't agree. There are men and women in law enforcement that see how important this is. Not to "catch" Trump or vindicate his "innocence"......but to preserve the integrity of our law enforcement system from political disease. Conservatives convinced me of Mueller's integrity, and so I expect him to be the man that steps up. Now he's not?

There are many, many people out there whose loyalty lies to truth, justice, and to America. Not everyone is caught up in this "civil war" of ideology that persists. I expect this investigation to end with an absolute indictment of the Trump campaign apparatus, or a clear statement of innocence. Any ambiguity would be a failure, imo.

Boom, it's done all the time and the leaks are a major component of the Russian investigation. Who leaked Flynn's name. Who leaked information to the NY Times that was totally false (according to Comey testimony). This is all related.

It will be a failure then. You're going to get Page or Manafort on money laundering, or something like that. They messed up and didn't know all of the rules. You might get a few deep state peeps on classified disclosure charges. But that's going to be about it. But we won't know this for certain for years, because they'll need to drag it out to give it credence.

Yes, I'm that jaded.

Related to finding the truth to the relevant goal of the investigation. Mueller wasn't appointed law enforcement Czar of D.C. He was appointed to investigate Russian influence in the election, and what if any extent the WH was involved. Period. All else is in the jurisdiction of the FBI and the DOJ.

I hope if they do go on a "fishing expedition" that they also look into Obama's White House ordering the "tapping" of voting machines in Georgia & Indiana trying to influence elections.

http://www.cnbc.com/2016/12/08/home...ack-of-georgias-election-database-report.html

It would also be nice to know who ordered those FISA names unmasked, and who leaked information from those illegal surveillance sweeps?

That's not Russian "interference" in our elections, that was our own President and the Democrat party.
