I'm chilling on press row at Welsh-Ryan Arena and there are dozens of people here. Okay, hundreds. But suffice it to say there are going to be plenty of good seats available.

I was looking at Eastern Washington's lineup. The Eagles have four Aussies, a Serb and a Ukrainian on the roster. The best player looks to be the Ukrainian, 6-6 Bogdan Bliznyuk, a preseason first-team All-Big Sky selection and the conference freshman of the year two years ago. He averaged 12.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists last year and registered the first triple-double in school history. 6-5 senior Felix Von Hofe hit seven 3s in the opener, though that was against Linfield College.

Looking forward to getting my first look at Barret Benson and Isiah Brown.

Definitely can't sleep on these guys. They have a history of playing up to competition, though they have lost quite a bit of talent from the NCAA tourney team of two years ago.

The Eagles beat Indiana 88-86 in November of 2014. They trumpet that as one of the greatest wins in school history in their game notes.

Agreed, Stream of our game is top notch on BTN2go. Watching both games.

Law has taken over the last couple minutes with a baseline teardrop, a 3 and a drive to the hoop that drew a foul.

Eastern is switching on all screens, so NU is getting some mismatches to exploit.

Well, Purdue was playing Villanova, while NU is playing Eastern Washington. That might have something to do with that.

That's something you don't see very often from NU: three offensive rebounds on one possession.

EWU hasn't let NU have as many fast breaks and NU is definitely having a harder time scoring in the half-court.

E. Washington doesn't have much, but Bogdan Bliznyuk is legit: 18 pts on 7-11 FG. He drives, has a nice spin move and can stroke the 3.

NU's shooting has gone south -- it was close to 70% in early stages, it's now down to 44.8% and the lead is 9.

EWU's zone and length is bothering Northwestern. Eagles guards go 6-5 and 6-3. Lead down to 46-38 at half.

Does NU play a top 25 team in their non conference schedule this year? Just wondering as I have not seen their schedule this year
