A few story lines heading into tonight's matchup with the Stags:

-Can Alex Olah continue his strong play against shorter lineups? (Fairfield's tallest player is 6-9)
-Will Tre Demps shake off a rough shooting performance in the season opener last Friday?
-Will Aaron Falzon keep up his hot shooting? (he went 8-15 from beyond the arc in one exhibition and one official game)
-Can the 'Cats put together a consistent two halves on the defensive side of the ball?

Giving up some offensive rebounds (long from three point attempts
Ash and JVZ both got in
Nice assist from Tap give Olah his first points in the paint
JVZ is active on the offensive boards - gotta love that!

Collins calls TO after some sloppy play, Fairfield scores 4 straight to cut lead to 27-18

Lindsey misses the dunk
Tre isn't finishing when he gets near the rim (he is drawing the fouls)
Olah and Falzone return (for rebounding?)
Game is being called tight - look for foul trouble
BMac drives, finishes, and draws the foul! Then adds a three point FG
Olah draws the charge
Ash comes in for a three guard look (Ash, BMac and Tre)
Lead grew to 13 and shrunk back to 9 in this period

Lindsey looks great going to the hoop, but not finishing
JVZ draws the foul (missed the front end but his form looked OK to me)

6-point run by Joey VZ helps get Cats back on track, outscore Fairfield 10-5 down stretch for 39-29 lead at break. Cats showed flashes in first half, but need to hit more outside shots to open inside game. Defense has been lackluster.

Here's another thought....when the hot shooter is open you don't have create your shot....you can just pass

On your points Lansing....a lot of Ash tonight

And JVZ's free throw form looks fine for a big man tonight. A little better than average mechanics.

Fairfield out-rebounds NU 20-16 in first half, not a good sign for future. Fairfield's tallest player is 6-9.
