Tall skinny shooters! Let’s get ‘em!

The exception is Chatman — any insight into how long he’s been holding these offers, and why he hasn’t made a commitment yet? I’m assuming NU is late to the game given that his ranking would indicate he’s a relatively known quantity in recruiting circles. (Edit: Just now realizing that only Martinelli is a 2022 offer. Everyone else is 23.)

Thanks for this, Lou.

I'm having a hard time picturing why any prospect with other legit P-6 offers would choose NU at this point, given Collins' situation. Hope I'm wrong, and would be happy to be told why.

Playing time in the B1G. And with the ease of transferring, there is no downside risk. Showcase your skills against top competition, build your value proposition.

He did write "any prospect with other legit P-6 offers"

So really the kid would have to love the Big Ten specifically or be really focused on Northwestern as a university (as opposed to a basketball program).

Anybody we are recruiting for the Fall of 2023 is talking to a coach who has been put "on notice" and may not be here, so it doesn't seem likely that we will win a lot of jump balls (so to speak) in the recruiting wars. Its a hassle to transfer - I'm not sure most kids would want to enroll and then just see what happens. Maybe they take the other path - don't enroll at NU, go play somewhere else and keep an eye on NU's situation.

If Collins is telling recruits "You'll play right away" thats a slap to Barnhizer, Hunger, Simmons, Roper and Berry. And Nicholson, of course. Nothing new on the latter.

NU offered another 2023 yesterday: four-star shooting guard Reid Ducharme, another NEPSAC kid.

Brewster won the NEPSAC this year, beating NMH with player of the year Luke Hunger and NU decommit Brumbaugh. Guessing that Ducharme is pretty good.
