Game Day -3

The Cats go back to Ann Arbor on Saturday. Ann Arbor was named for the wives of the town founders and for trees. Jim Harbaugh used to coach the Stanford Cardinal (AKA 'the Trees" because of the redwood on the school seal).

Cats 19
Trees 24

Though I have a sneaking suspicion there is a plausible chance of an upset, I think it is a possibility, not a probability.

Last time the Cats were at the Big House I correctly predicted the score, which was 38-0 Michigan. I hope I'm correct again.

Cats 21
Michigan 14

I believe!

I didn't think the Cats would win last week and was pleasantly surprised. If they make the same improvements on both sides of the ball the Cats could win this one but Fitz is going to have to let the offense loose more on first down if we get a lead.

Don’t have a prediction but I want this win more than anything after reading the maize& brew blog cant stand those overconfident smug *** jerks! Oh how quickly they forget all the lackluster seasons they’ve had at least we’ve been to Indianapolis when they’ve never sniffed it before let that sink in. Funny for a bunch of nerds right?

It's a little bit of an unfair comparison. The bottom line is that none of us can beat Ohio State.

'Cats 24 - Wolverines 14. A "yawner" by anybody's standards. Plan on cutting the grass in the boring second half.

Lol been to indy. You’re in the west.
Michigan hasn’t forgotten anything. They have beaten NW 6 in a row and 11/12

Overhyped every year get tons of 4/5 star recruits yet haven’t been to the championship game? Please save me the whole division thing its not like we can choose which one to be in, Outside of the 2015 game almost all of the games have been close, would expect to see more respect from UM but of course that fanbase has to be cocky pricks.

Northwestern's win over Rutgers was classic NU. Don't think the 2020 team would have made it look easier. So...

Northwestern 28
Michigan 21

Northwestern wins out, and heads to Indy.

NU wins a tight battle 3-2. Heavy rain makes it hard to score.
NU wins with a last second 57 yard field goal.

Based on watching all of the NU games this season and almost all of the MICH games:

Yeah, I don't think they will score 49 but I do think we lose. But in the end "we're still the best Sneetches and they are the worst". Or, to paraphrase Churchill, in the morning, we'll be sober but they'll still be jerks.

Love the optimism here, but just am not seeing it. Hoping the Cats keep it close and somehow steal it at the end, but to me this game smacks of the UNL fiasco. Harbleh won't hesitate to run up the score if he can.

Fingers crossed I'm wrong.

Michigan won't run it up. That's not what this team does. They'll keep the ball on the ground and try to get out of there without sustaining major injuries. Starters will be out in third quarter in an ideal world. No way are they playing late to add an extra TD given the big games on deck (MSU and PSU in next three weeks). Michigan also is a low possession team, it will run clock to get the game over faster, which I think prevents it from getting super ugly even if Northwestern is overwhelmed at the point of attack.

As for my prediction, I'll go with Michigan 31-10.

I do think NW is improved and will hang around for a half, but it's hard to look at the matchup of the top rushing offense in the B1G vs the worst rushing defense and not think NW will eventually wear down or allow some big runs.

Must be nice to be in the handicap division of the big ten....

63-14 Michigan rolls you harder than Nebraska did.

fun fact: we have a better win % vs Ohio State since 2004 than Mich does. That even includes the two times we played them in what is known as the Conference Championship Game (you may have heard of it).

Once again your argument is the division, Whatever you say Walmart Wolverine, I wonder what y’all’s excuse will be this year when Ohio State beats you by two touchdowns? Its the refs!

Hey man don't you know the NU defense (nearly) had six consecutive shutout quarters at one point and now two consecutive shutout quarters against Butgers, so there.

Remind us again how many times Michigan has played in the B1G championship game since the current division configuration was set. And how many times has Harbaugh at Michigan defeated Ohio State? Until either of those numbers gets above zero, you have no right to thump your chest here.
