Northwestern hits the Oregon Trail this week, heading to Eugene to take on the not-so-mighty Ducks, who have faltered this season. Health is a major issue for both teams. Not The Dysentery, but injuries. Oregon has lost starting quarterback Dante Moore for the season, while NU’s defense, particularly the secondary has had multiple starters out for multiple weeks. Oregon appears in disarray with its OC fired mid-season, but still has stellar talent on both sides of the ball.

This is a particularly difficult one to call, but a surging NU has a great opportunity for a road win against an Oregon team on its heels.

Everyone keeps saying Raiola sucks but all I remember from his Nebraska days is a very good passing QB who had a bit of dawg in him but often lost games due to typical Nebraska screw-ups he didn't always cause. I expect him to play to his potential Saturday and NU to start slow.

Oregon 28
NU 14

I really hope I am wrong.

Springfield IL: 32
Springfield OR: 31 (D’oh!)

In overtime: they get ball first and get TD/XP, we get TD and Braun goes for 2 and the win

27-21 'Cats.

Can't entirely believe that's my pick, as I do think Eugene is an underrated-ly difficult place to play and Oregon may also get a bit of a dead cat bounce from the change in OCs. But Northwestern has earned the benefit of the doubt, playing as well as they have. Concerns about our defense, concerns about injuries and depth. It'll be a challenge, but the bottom line is I still like our chances far more than I expected to.

Not worried. Oregon will play like wounded ducks who had their season and CFP dreams crushed.
