Scottie Lindsey is struggling out there. He's 1-7 while the rest of the team is 12-22. After a rough start, NU's offense settled down. With Law in foul trouble and Lindsey shooting poorly, they're lucky to be down one at the half, really. B-Mac (12 points), a couple 3s by Skelly and a few assorted baskets from Brown and Pardon is really all NU had in the first half.

NU needs to come out and impose its will early in the second. But I have a feeling that it's gonna be a dogfight to the buzzer. Just about all of their games seem to wind up like that.

Law had better get into this damn game. His team needs him.

At least NU's consistent: they started both halves terribly. ‪We're at the under 16 timeout and NU still hasn't scored in the second half. ‬

Now Mac with 4 fouls. But.... we're still in it considering how badly we are playing. I think Illinois gets some credit. They are playing good D. I think they are just really fired up to play us. We seem to be playing tentatively on the other hand.

Illinois looks like it has the book on Brown. He'll get his points, but he's getting shots blocked, passes picked off. They're ready for him, and with B-Mac in foul trouble, he'll need to tighten up.

Is there some reason why Vic Law will not drive to the basket? The same for all of our players.

NU looks nothing like the team that earned its record.

So we'll have to play another mf cliffhanger. What else? Pass the Tequila.

Illinois is just playing harder than we are. I think our guys are fatigued.

Good god. NU inbounds from baseline is horrendous.
Yes. We need to work on these inbounds plays. At some point a solid pick and roll or really strong cut is needed. We don't seem really aggressive on these plays. Any time we're lobbing a ball inbounds over a defender's head, I am nervous. Not many inbounds plays are designed for a lob as anything but the last option.

Is NU tired? Feeling pressure of NCAA bid? Other than Wisconsin game, the offense has been pretty brutal for a while now. We thought the return of Lindsey would be the cure, but...nuh.

We're not moving on either end. This team is spent.

That 3 pointer hurts. Am I the only one to feel that our uniform make us look black and white on tv?

I have faith too. We are giving up too many open shots. IL is making it harder on us and we are not running an offense that is producing any open shots right now. Not good. Need some energy on O.

Why does Illinois only play intense defense against us. They sleepwalk through half of their games this year.

Good night and good luck. This team is not playing anything like earlier in the season. They are on the verge of losing for the 4th time in 6 games including a nail biter against pathetic Rutgers. Either these kids are super tight or super tired. Not sure what to do about it. They just have to get back to where they were.
