Can't believe we didn't foul there...but, big win for our chances to get to .500 in Big ten. Purdue was probably the toughest matchup for us. We win with probably Tai's worst night of the year. McVeigh and Horne were huge. Horne has IT on the offensive end...he just knows how to get buckets.

What a win after the losing streak.

The season is over as far as making the tourney (unless we can win the conference tournament), but this team has potential to finish strong.

Yeah I don't know what Morrow's status is, and I don't want him to play unless he's totally healthy. But throw him into the rotation that played today, and the Huskers can be a headache for anyone in the conference.

So do these big wins keep Miles at NU even with all of the bad losses?

Who knows, but I say keep him on if he can recruit.
Eichorst understands the circumstances. I'd say sans a team mutiny, no way you can give up on Miles. If Morrow isn't hurt likely two losses are wins and the team could be sitting at 6-3. But 4-5 isn't anything to be ashamed of.

I think they are hopeful Morrow will be back for MSU. Whether or not tha means he is healthy I don't know. He's had foot problems for years apparently.

One of the reasons I hope Miles is coming back is that I really don't want him coaching from the hot seat the rest of the season. That leads to things like Nick Fuller playing more minutes than Horne and Tschimanga.

Even if the Huskers would have lost today, this would have been a game that made you excited for next year. That's just not the case when those guys ride the bench.

You have to wait until the end of the year for any decisions. We somehow managed to win, despite giving up about 60% from beyond the arc. Purdue is a great shooting team, but not that great.

Who is this team? I have never been prouder and more disappointed in an 8 day swing. But they have heart and really show. Picturing any discussion of this team for a tournament "Well their best wins are really good and their worst losses are truly awful.....". As far as Miles, he really gets good things out of these guys at times.

How do you find something negative to post about after a win but fail to find something positive to post about after a loss?

Don't blame it on me for your lack of paying attention. I have posted numerous positive things after wins and losses under Miles.

Sorry. Just a quick reaction on my part but so many on here only see the glass as half full or in their cases empty. #GBR

Im glad they are competing instead of being blown when they do lose. The NW loss was a pretty good game for most of it. Then to come out and win this one against a darn good team is amazing. Im happy for them but I will admit that I thought they would end up losing.

If you appreciate being competitive you must appreciate this team. Their biggest loss is by 12 to Northwestern in a game they were down by only 4 with under 5 to play.

I love the experience this team is getting and call me a homer but this will pay huge dividends in the coming years.

Purdue is in fact a great perimeter shooting team AND they compliment that with a tremendous inside presence. Pick your poison. That makes it really tough for a team short on bigs to defend in the paint. --it happens.

I fully expected a team this young to be very inconsistent. Hell after old what's his name transferred we had guys predicting we wouldn't win a game in conference play. Then they repeated it after that one really bad loss.

sometimes Horne has IT. Sometimes he doesn't. That's why his playing time got cut. He's a bit of a liability on the defensive end so if his shot isn't going in he has to sit. I think he'll get more consistent as he gains B1G experience.[/QUOTE]

You're fine. I've been more critical of Miles this year than previous. Having losing seasons in 4 of 5 seasons would be a tough pill to swallow if I were our AD. It's more than that though. Both our offense and defense disappear for long stretches in games. Especially our offense. Just no movement away from the ball to get open. Those issues seem systemic to me. And I look at things like Purdue shooting 18% better than their season average from the 3-point line. That concerns me.

Did you see Nebraska's 3 point shooting percentage?

Some days are hot days. I'd also say a lot had to do with Miles refusing to let Purdue's big guys kill him with dunks. Doubling down usually leaves someone open and that kid from Purdue was pure.

While McVeigh has a decent shot, he's not nearly as pure as the Purdue kid was.

Yeah if NU doesn't fully commit to the double team yesterday, Tschimanga and Jacobson probably both foul out by early second half and Swanigan puts up 30 points. It's tough giving up that many threes, but that defensive strategy was the only way the Huskers don't get destroyed inside.

And guys that forget about losses to Gardner-Webb when it's convenient posting about how great this team will be in 2 years.
I don't forget a loss to Gardner-Webb. That game could likely be the difference between this team making an NIT and not making one. But as many announcers have said, those Gardner-Webb games happen to many teams. Nebraska is too young and inconsistent to look past anyone yet they did. But a game like that also shows what happens when you have young talent. I'm not going to throw in the towel on my long-term outlook because of a crappy loss to a Gardner-Webb. Maybe I should though, based on what other fans are telling me. I should just be pissed all the time and say that Miles sucks. Then we could all get along.

I am not telling you to change your opinion, believe whatever you wish. If getting along and being in full agreement is what you are looking for, I might suggest you are in the wrong place though.

I have been all over the map in my opinion of Miles. I just really don't know what to think. Part of me sees the talent he has brought in and potential for the future. The Purdue game is a case in point about what these players can do. On the other hand we are in year five and most of the time this team plays like crap.

I think I will let the AD make this call and just sit back and enjoy the rest of our season. It's his job anyway and not mine. Hopefully we can make the NIT
