Pinto came out hot up 6-2 after 1. Got ridden all period and titled in 2nd. Quick escape Ruiz in 3rd and then takedown and ride out for Ruiz win. Pinto looked gassed. Early season or weight cut? He’s dangerous, not a bad loss.

Ruiz is a national title candidate for what it’s worth

I understand that. Some here think Pinto is, too. I very much like what I saw from Pinto last year. I made that comment out of frustration from seeing the same things every year. Getting stuck on the bottom and coming into the season not in condition. Turley was famous for that. Shawver mentioned being ridden last time he met (who is it?) and said he won't let that happen again. Let's hope not.

Aren’t you a Penn state fan? Why do you post here?
Penn State is my favorite team. I’m from Jersey so I root for Rutgers as well. The forums dead as it is, would you prefer less chat in a public forum?

Because he is typical Happy Valley dickwad, that has come here and diminish our program, when we are nowhere near the level of Penn State.
Says the stupidest person on this forum. Never have I diminished RU.

surprised you came out of hiding after making an ******* out of yourself last year

I don't see an issue with it you never say anything bad maybe a joke or two but whatever. You know how boards can be your board ran me off in about a week by sending Tom messages. It's how people are nowadays theyve become soft as baby sh*t. The mods here aren't gonna boot you for having a different opinion. Keep posting and have fun with it

All I did in this instance was give an accurate match recap of the Pinto/Ruiz match. Lol

I'm pretty sure it was you who has always kept this stance and have been very up front about it. I never remember you thumping your chest for PSU or throwing RU under the bus on here. Not a problem with you posting.

I’m adding to what you said. Not every post has to be argumentative
Got it. The way it came across to me was that I didn’t know how good Ruiz is. He’s tough and some are picking him for finals against Haines. Personally I thought Pinto was going to take him out

I thought Pinto would win too.. if he wrestled the way he did the first period the whole match.. then he has the *potential to be a National finalist.

What’s your thought on how Ryder looked against Jaxon? As a PSU fan would you have rather kept Ryder for 4 years or Rocco for 3? Can’t wait to see the two face off.

Pinto is an animal but he always had gas tank issues. Hope he can fix it.

Yeah it hurt me personally losing Ryder. Kid seemed like a great kid and always wanted to wear the blue and white. That being said, if you’re Cael, and a PA kid, runner up, knocks on your door, says he wants to be on the team, knowing he has to earn a spot, Cael can’t say no.

I was a little surprised Ryder didn’t stay and try to earn his spot, but I could also see why he left. That being said, from what I have heard, him and Rocco both trained at KD. I think Rocco believes he wins that match and that’s why he came. Ryder leaving tells me he had doubts.
That being said..I’m a Ryder fan and will root for him against everyone but PSU

Ryder stopped training at KD in the summer of 2023. Rocco lived 7 hours away and would come on weekends and for camps. They obviously wrestled around but not as much as you think.

Actually , i'm one of the most accomplished , if not , the most accomplished person on this forum. I am certainly in the know when it comes to wrestling. I'm not a jock sniffing, flap jack like you. I admitted that things didn't pan out, but they would if those wrestlers didn't have second thoughts and got tons of pressure from teammates, coaches and family. The sad part about a guy like you and the other Penn.State short loads.,is that none of us go on to your moronic Nittany Lion forum.... And here you are offering nothing to this forum in terms of pedigree or knowledge. When you can beat somebody like Nate Carr, Harlan Kistler and Ed Woodstone then you can come talk all the smack you want.

It's wild that KD gets all this credit. These wrestlers were elite and winning/placing in elite tourneys long before they ever stepped foot in KD. Most of them were trained elsewhere...Ryder, Duke, James, Gursoy, the list goes on.

As for the event, attendance was weak so we probably won't get it again anytime soon. Surprised attendance was as weak as it was but there were a bunch of other college wrestling tournaments and other things going on. Rutgers should've included this in season tickets with an increase on what we paid.

I mean if Rocco came in as a walk-on then yeah can’t blame Cael at all. I’m a bit more surprised Rocco left Ohio state for not a gtd spot to start at Psu..

Find it hard to believe Ryder left bc he didn’t want to face extra competition.. he knows ur not gtd to start at PSU.. it must have been how the situation was handled or something…

I don't think he gets all the credit. And KD definitely isn't looking to take all the credit either. He's definitely helped them all. Hes a good coach and technician. He also has some good coaches with him. KD is a good guy and knows the sport. I have been to practices at his club and watched him coach he does a really good job.

I attended the event, and agree it appeared to be a conditioning issue with L. Pinto - but on Nov 1st, that shouldn’t alarm RU fans - it’s early, he’ll be in better condition relatively soon, and win quite a bit. As for Shawver, kudos to him for taking that bout vs the defending NC - that shows some guts. I think L. Bryd is just too much for him - but that most likely will be the case for most 133 (if not all) wrestlers this season. RU will be a very tough dual meet team this season; don’t see, at least this early, high-end tourney placers - though there should be a few all-Americans.

Renewed my season ticket, so I’ll see you all at some matches!

I attended too and I agree. Pinto clearly gassed out in the 3rd after going hard in the 1st-2nd. Byrd is just too good. Shawver fought but Byrd was too much for him at this point.
