And Headrick just gave up the lead. And with the pen fully rested Boone just allows Headrick to continue to pitch batting practice. And now Boone brings in a reliever with an ERA hovering around 6. WTF Boone. I am so sick of Boone and his mismanagement of the pitching staff.

I've said for years now if the Yankees ever win it will be in spite of Boone not because of him. 2nd loss in 4 days when Tampa list that Boone made head scratching decisions.

So Cruz admitted postgame that he is not trying to strike out batters but is pitching to get outs by contact. And therein lies the problem. He also said he has mechanical problems and knows what it is but has not worked on correcting it. WTF? and Boone keeps going to him? It's like I'm posting a broken record every game. Rodriguez pitching excellent. Gives up a leadoff single and here comes Boone. Every damn time he makes a pitching change it backfires. Blackburn instantly gives up a double. Lombard makes his 5th error in 5 games but the run would have scored anyway. I'm not a fan of pulling a starter who is pitching well and has the lead because of 1 single. Blackburn blew the lead but to his credit he got out of a bases loaded 1 out jam with some good pitches.

Lombard is punching his jticket back To AAA. That's now 6 errors in 6 straight games and they have been on routine plays. No Yankees SS has ever had an error in 6 straight games. And defense is supposed to be his strong point.

Cam has to go deeper in games. That’s what an ace needs to give you. We have four games in three days against a rival and in Game 1 we got a whopping 1/3 of an inning more from our Cy Young guy than Boston got from a mediocre backend guy. They makes a split tomorrow the best case probably.

It's not just Cam but the whole pitching staff and the Yankees philosophy. It's one of the things that really irks me about the Yankees. They want their pitchers to make batters chase so instead of going right at batters they go 3-2 on every batter so the pitch counts go up and here comes Boone to yank the starter most of the time in the 5th inning. They have their starters geared for 5 innings. That is fine except you have a crap bullpen. Cam should have 20 wins already.

The Yankees continue to be weak at the plate. Only 3 hits and Rice had 2 of them. Last night was our best combination of pitchers. Schlittler, Hendrick, Blackburn, and Bednar. They have our top 4 ERAs, but you're not going to have that exact combination often.

The damn Rays continue to win on their way to another division title. 2nd year in a row Paul O'Neill said they would fizzle out after the All Star break.

Boone yanking Schlittler in the 5th after a 2 out walk almost backfired like usual when he pulls a starter. Headrick wasted no time in loading the bases but got out of it. And Bellinger's throw to home to nab a runner by a foot in the 7th inning was awesome. Saved the game.
