NYC/east Rutherford folks

Wife and I are heading up tomorrow (Wednesday) for the System of a Down concert at MetLife. Gonna be there early tomorrow, concert in the evening, then heading back home Thursday but not leaving till after lunch. In and out of JFK. Gonna have a rental car. Any must eat at places in between JFK and east Rutherford? Nothing fancy. We eat anything.

La Fortaleza in East Rutherford was fun this summer.

American Dream Mall in the Meadowlands complex. A lot of dining options. Plus, it’s a pretty interesting Mall….if you like that sort of thing. Link to a local story on dining at the mall below.

American Dream

That drive from/to JFK can be monumentally frustrating, particularly around a holiday.

The obvious in between JFK and East Rutherford is Manhattan.

You can find pretty much every dining option imaginable on Route 17 outside of the Meadowlands.

Rutherford is next to East Rutherford and has a bunch of good restaurants.

American Dream is a huge mall that is convenient to the Meadowlands.

Not a fan of malls but it is a neat experience to see it once. I would recommend the op visit it as well.

Funny story….we went there for the first time on a Sunday. Apparently Bergen County still has laws on the books prohibiting retail sales on Sunday. Most of the stores were closed. Drug stores, amusements, restaurants and apparently makeup stores were allowed to be open. Why put a mall there that cannot open on Sundays? Crazy.
