Not really tmatheny, I do not think you listen to CB's summer media video. In that Video, She said that Akot was going to be a problem for a lot of teams this year at the four. Akot has played P5 basketball four at least 3 years. She is not a freshman. She has experienced, etc. Akot did not transfer in from Oklahoma State to sit on the bench.
Here is a comment made by CB last week about Akot,
She singled out 6–1 Oklahoma State transfer Achol Akot as a difference-maker under the boards, calling her a “massive problem.”
“She was great on the glass playing the five actually at Oklahoma State,” Banghart said. “[Syracuse transfer] Sophie Burrows played a ton at the three and four, and those are long kids. And [Virginia transfer] Gabby White is probably as athletic as Indya Nivar, and Kate’s about 5–10. So I think we’ll be, we better be better rebounding-wise.” I do not think NH would rather sit on the bench either. To be honest, I do not think this is going to happen. Another issue that I see will be hindering the growth of the current players who are on the roster by taking a player who just graduated back. How can the freshmen and sophomore players grow if they have to sit on the bench for another year. We have all said that Dean Smith along with other top level coaches have stated that the biggest jump a player makes is b/w his or her freshman year to their sophomore year. This would definitely hindered their growth.
