@hornetnation7 is ready to go! I like your style. I personally think South wins 28-7 and the reason is Oak Forest is a Wing T team, South's front 4 is going to do very well against that, in my humbled opinion. If you think it's just Josh King on that line, you're sadly mistaken. Oak Forest is a very good team, please don't think I am knocking them at all, South is a disciplined team/well coached, that is a recipe for disaster for a wing T team. Add their athletes into the mix, kiss the baby time.

As for South's offense, they won't face better or a more athletic secondary than Thornton the rest of the way, they will be able to throw the ball this week. Against Thornton it was tough, they were just so damn athletic, the throws had to be perfect and some of them were. Curry will do his thing but I think McCormack comes out and throws for 200 and a couple of TD's.

Oak Forests plan will be to control the clock, matriculate down the field and keep South's offense off of the field. Personally, I don't think they'll be able to do that. I may be a homer, but I'm right most of the time so start taking notes.

I have not seen any games or game film of OF yet, so don't have any real thoughts yet. If they are a run oriented team, will need to see how effective their offensive line has been. Also, will be looking to size-up their dbs, as I suspect South's WRs will be tough to handle.

This brings back memories. If I recall correctly I think in 79 Oak Forest played Hinsdale South in a strike game as both teams had won by forfeit and I was at that game. But fast forward to now well I give the slight advantage to Hinsdale South though being a old Sica fan I have to root for OF

I've been the last guy to want to jump on HS bandwagon, still think they're overrated but they are at least pretty good, they beat OF, rather handily.

TPS,

What polls are you reading that have HS overrated? The only poll I am aware they currently show up in is the DH at 17. That is hardly overrated.

Is your statement is based on HS supporters post? Most only suggest that HS will be a tough out in the playoff dispite a 6-3 record going in and could make a deep run.

Please explain why you believe they are overrated? I don't get it.

@hornetnation7 Why am I still waiting?
Wild,

After looking at a few OF games, I am cautiously optimistic about HS chances.

OF is a very solid team. Good fundamentals and plays hard. OF likes to run the ball. If HS can deal with their RB and QB out of the wing T, we should be OK. On the other side of the ball, desipte tackling well, I think OF will have trouble with HS run game (i.e Curry). Also, HS presents a matchup nightmare for OF in the passing game. HS has too many athletes at WR/Slot and should be able to move the ball smaller OF DBs. HS speed may also cause issues. Would like to see HS use speed more to stretch field, which will open everything up underneath.

South should win

Thank you and I agree. Oak Forest is not a slouch at all. If OF gets the ball first I think it's closer than it should be in the 1st half because they will set the tone and control the clock to start. 2nd half, South opens it up after being ahead and forcing OF to have a little more pep in their step and throw the ball.

For some reason, I can just see OF doing a trick play early to get the jump on South put a damper on things. I just feel it in my plums.

Here is my final prediction:

*If OF gets the ball first
South 28-7

*If South gets the ball first
South 42-7

I've never seen a prediction like this.

What if HS wins the toss, defers and OF decides to kick, thus giving HS the ball to start the first and second half?
Didn't someone do that against Naz last year? MCC I want to say? I remember the coach talking about it after the game.

I'm not wrong in my prediction. I'm a trend setter, you'll now see a lot of people doing their predictions like this. Just wait, you'll see.

What's the shame about it if Otto thought this was one of the things he had to do to stay in the game with JCA? What were you expecting from him, love for the Hilltoppers?

I dont understand your second question.
As to the first, I use shame in its strictest of ways. I'm glad he did it. By all means, it was his right.

what about RB JCA 2001. RB onside kicked every kickoff. 9 i believe. What a shame.

They did that all year not just against JCA, just poor reporting at that time. RB's strategy was to get as many possessions as possible, if they kick 9 and recover 1 it's an extra possession for their offense, if the other team got good field position the other times well so be it, RB knew they'd out score anyone in the state. I've also heard many people complain that even if RB got a stop after the failed onside kicks that they would be pinned deep. Otto preferred that, more stars for his kid, I'm not joking, and his offense was far more successful with a ton of grass in front of them as opposed to short fields.

That RB team was so much fun to watch, all year, they didn't do anything different against JCA that year but it was the best game I've seen.
