I see Mac's point about this affecting his enjoyment of the game. I was at that point this year as we had almost an entirely new team. I did start buying in about halfway through the season, mainly due to the way the team playing so unselfishly and locked in on D. Plus they were really, really good. But I also remember last year, a team that did not seem to like each other or play team ball at times. That team did manage to make an elite eight run but it came very close to imploding. It was frustrating to put that much energy into cheering for a team only to have most of them hit the portal. It's hard to say if this past year is the new norm or if we caught lightning in a bottle. 4 or 5 guys back seems like a good goal, and some portal players for experience. We did have great luck in the portal, with Brown and Sion being better than expected. That does not always happen, portal guys seem to be hit and miss.
