A Duke student recently gave a commencement speech to the Class of 2022. Turns out she plagiarized her speech from a commencement speech given at Harvard in 2014. Here's a link to the report: https://www.washingtonpost.com/educ...mmencement-plagiarize-speech-harvard-parkash/

Another deceitful and despicable Dookie play, like Grayson Allen tripping an opponent ... just in another realm of endeavor. Looks like cheating by the basketball program may have spread like a cancer at Duke.

Why would someone ever think they would get away with this? They really thought that 10's of thousands of people would hear this, and not one single person would be like "Wait, this sounds familiar".
Well, it's sounds like she enlisted the help of others, probably trusting them a little too much. Sounds like some of them may have suggested parts of that speech and maybe didn't tell her where they got the idea from, who knows. In the end, she should have been more thorough about the contents of what she would say, no doubt. Doesn't sound like ill intent though. Lot's of reasons to hate Duke as a UK fan, this would be nowhere on the list for me.

On a side note, a month or so ago I was giving some rides for some side $, and witnessed a "real-life Unicorn", hot Duke Coeds. Picked up a group of 4 smokin hot (well only 2 were smoking hot, and other 2 were just cute) Duke girls going to some Formal.

I was as much in shock as you guys, but it does exist. That said, those 2 are very much the exception.
But I couldn’t take their pics for proof, that would have just been creepy.

So that girl pretty much plagerized the whole thing. Sorry, but that was all her, not her “helpers.” Pressure can make you do stupid things. Love and learn. No big deal, as who really cares.

Woman still didn't take actual accountability - she blamed people she asked for advice, then only took accountability for her not vetting their advice herself before the speech.

From the article:

"Now, Parkash says she takes “full responsibility” for an incident that the university is investigating. In a statement provided through crisis public relations firm Red Banyan, Parkash said she was so thrilled and honored that Duke selected her to speak at the graduation ceremony that she “sought advice from respected friends and family about topics I might address.”

“I was embarrassed and confused to find out too late that some of the suggested passages were taken from a recent commencement speech at another university,” she said. “I take full responsibility for this oversight and I regret if this incident has in any way distracted from the accomplishments of the Duke Class of 2022.”

Woman needs to just admit she watched the Harvard YouTube video and tweaked the words, fully believing no one would take the time or effort to find the swiped speech from 2014. Instead, "respected friends and family" "suggested passages" and are truly to blame (a lie).

Exactly. This is unfortunately the make up of kids and young adults today. No accountability. Of course this is just my opinion. But I have a vast amount of first hand experience to build my opinion on anyway. Integrity. It’s missing.

Don’t put it past the kids of the trophy generation and their 10 second attention spans. When you hire a crisis form to take over you know it’s legit lol. It’s also curious that the speech she took it from was also from a girl who came from the Arab world, and she herself came from a Pakistan. I believe that’s why she chose it because it sounded just like her experiences entering the U.S. would to someone who hadn’t heard it before. She claims that she asked people she knows for advice on topics to address but she basically took the outline of that girls speech, at least in the parts the story referenced and just changed some words and phrasing around. She used the original story as an outline and hit on the same points.

Duke has investigated this issue and found no wrong doing....wait she isn't on the Men's basketball team? Then nevermind they will make an example of her.

So, hot female Duke fans, uh? All signs point to you having a car full of Asian chicks.
