Given that many of you have and enjoy having dogs in your lives, I am linking the live stream feed for the AWMA (American Working Malinois Association) IGP national championship. This determines the six dog/teams that will represent the US at the FMBB world championship.

The sport is comprised of three phases: tracking, obedience and protection. The live stream includes the obedience and protection phases (hard to live stream tracking). Nationals will span three days: today, Saturday and Sunday. OB will start at 9AM once it concludes the will switch the field for protection.

If you are intrigued and have any questions just message me so that we do not take up bandwith.

For any Floridians, the competition is in Ocala and everyone is welcome

Always amazed when I watch a Malinois work. My Pug, not quite so ambitious….

My last partner was a malinois. He was an ******* but a great worker. My new guy is a lab/Visalia mix. He's a social dog but a terrible worker.

I leave for three months for a K9 instructor course in January 4th for work. Look forward to grabbing the leash for some crazy malinois'.

On my third American Akita Inu as my buddy . They have all been great . I have the time and energy to be an effective leader for them . I love Mals, but the work is more than most people can handle. I appreciate seeing them demonstrate their talents. Good stuff .

The worst thing that happened to Malis were the two stupid movies that came out in the last five years, You cannot imagine how many knuckleheads thought that it was a good idea to have a working line Mali as a pet. Coupled to a permissive home structure, no discipline and no outlets for their intensity many were surrendered and brought in for "training" when it was too late.

Post a picture of your companions, guys. Shitzu or GSD they are all incredible. Below is Malik, my GSD working dog.

An all black GSD - pretty cool.

I found a rare all black Aussie - everyone that sees him (including my iphone) thinks he is a flat coated retriever.

Handsome Aussie. Love the coat.

Malik is a bi-color, but it is easy to misidentify, His lower legs are sable and there are hints of it elsewhere.. That and sable are the traditional European working line GSD dogs. Saddle back GSDs are more of a postwar product of selective breeding. They are common in the US and in conformation. But totally different discussion.
