Update on the Offensive Coordinators who have been thrown under the Mark Stoops bus.

Neal Brown almost led Troy to a win at #2 ranked Clemson this weekend.

Shannon Dawson's offense has scored over 100 points in 2 games at Southern Miss, including 44 against the former D Coordinator now head coach who fired him.

Brown was never thrown under any bus. He had an opportunity to be a head coach. He took it. Most coaches in his place would. A few top coordinators have the luxury of turning down a job like Troy if it is offered; most don't. There has been no suggestion from anyone that I am aware of, that Stoops wanted Brown to leave.

Shannon put up those points against the worst defense in the SEC and one of the worst in the country by ranking. And against one of the worst FCS schools (1-9 last year) who get 40-60 put up on them in the FCS on a regular basis. Lets hold the horses before judging Dawson. Florida's mediocre defense put up 45 on us and could have easily put up 70. That's the same team who struggled to score 24 against UMass. Shannon will put up good numbers this season but wont have it as easy as he did the last 2 games. Any decent OC should put up good numbers with the players he has (possible NFL QB and RB).

Umm, Stoops has had great recruiting classes. I mean we have such talent on our defense. I don't blame the players. The lousy coaches can't put them in position to win! I bet they wouldn't have put those numbers up on any other SEC team.

So you're saying UK's defense is total dog crap in year 4 of Stoops tenure? Isn't he a former DC?

At least he's doing it the right way and doesn't hurt anyone's feelings.

Uhm I dpnt like Stoops anymore than you, matte rof fact I want him gone. But I am not going to be biased. You cannot judge Dawsons success off of a team like UK and one of the worst D1-AA teams in football...

Not to mention that it was where Brown cut his coaching teeth early in his career. Troy is special to him. It's not just a opportunity. And I hope he continues to do well. We may be looking at a new HC for the 2018 season. By that time Brown will have proven himself at Troy.

Can we stop with the "great" recruiting classes? We are recruiting BETTER then WE have recruited in the past but please there are no great recruits on this roster as of now. You want great, try looking at Ohio State or Alabama's recruiting classes, there you will find greatness.

This is spot on.
