The Athletic reported that "All told, Northwestern scored 1.215 points per possession — the most allowed by Michigan State in 87 games, dating back to a 96-93 win vs Iowa on Feb. 6, 2018 (1.24 ppp)." Very impressive. Michigan State has played a lot of really good teams over that stretch.

kenpom has NU's efficiency last night at 1.14, which is still very very good. (Last year in B1G, it was a miserable 0.941).

What also helps was the 'Cats was getting to the line last night 18 times (35.3 FTA/FGA), and going 83% from the stripe.
