RIGHT NOW! On the sideline infront of everyone.

You should go to his house and do it yourself. Easy to say that with the protection of the computer screen in front of you. We should all get the opportunity to review your work. It probably wouldn't be pretty for you.

Four holding penalties in the second (oh, make that five) but the announcer just said that he didn't like three of them.

Baker made a play, maybe he likes Towles after all!!!!!

That's really your response lol? When my job performance is broadcast live every week in front of thousands of people then you can evaluate me all you want. Our line has been dominated game in and game out.

You must be a relative lol.

Not a relative, but a friend of his in the coaching business. By your post and response, I'm sure you are quite outstanding in your "broadcast" field. Probably a loser that never was able or good enough to get on the field.

Schlarman deserves the criticism. Regardless if you're his family or colleague, his unit has not progressed in three years. Proof is in the pudding.

i can appreciate your friendship, but if you ARE a coach, you have to see that he just isnt getting it done. this O-line struggled against EKU for god sakes

I expect no less than 4 ast. coaches will not be retained. I also believe 1 will be demoted, and another will take his spot.

I know this, John has been in this game a long time and has had success every where he has been. With that being said, I go agree that his unit struggled mightily this year. Not sure how they are recruiting OL type guys, but the one that we have are not SEC quality. We have SEC quality guys on other parts of the team, but not there. In regards to the EKU statement, you are right, buth the guy that we struggled with was a transfer from Ohio State and those kind of players are really good.
Our biggest problem on this team is scheme issues on both sides of the ball, but particularly on the defensive side. We were terrible at adjusting to game time changes. Not a big fan of Dawson either. Styed with Towles too long and put Barker in a tough spot with must win game late in year.
Just my thoughts though.

Good strategy. When people question his qualifications resort to name calling. How about we judge his product on the field which if you are truly a "coach" I would like for you to give us your grade from A-F on how well he has coached the oline.

Also, you talk about his impressive resume as a coach - don't think Campbell County, Newport HS, and Troy quite cut it. I guess we should not expect any better results since he has no experience coaching at a high level. If he was not married to Lee Anne Federspiel he would not have any chance of being at UK. Let us know the grade.

I'm not there on a day to day basis to see his work. I have seen him work in the past though and know that he is a qualified coach. Is he the best in the business, no. My point in one of my posts is that the OL position is the least talented position on the team. We don't have to have dominant OL talent, but we need better players for sure. Not sure how to grade his coaching, but I would grade the OL a D, maybe a C- at best. Anything below a B at this position is losing football. And by the way, my profession for the last 25+ years is that of a coach. No quote marks needed. Who he married has nothing to do with his employment at UK. It probably has more to do with the fact that he is a former player if anything other than his profession.

Some changes have to be made or you're going to start losing fans. Schlarman would be my first choice and then Dawson. I think both need to go.

The offensive line was getting some very positive comments by the announcers. I thought they showed a lot of improvement over other games this year. They played well the first half, but seemed to be tired the last half.

Do you think he forgot how to coach the second half or perhaps they are also short on depth?. They were on the field a long time.

YEah... just the offensive line coach??? Sure man. ok.

It is not just the oline coach, but they have been brutal the last two years. Horrible in pass pro, too many holds, too many false starts.... No technique, no communication which results in poor pickups on pass rush and blitzes. Would love to hear reasons on how he has done well.

I am with you on the oline coach, but we need to fire this whole rookie coaching staff IMO.. they are a bunch of assistant coaches and assistant to the assistant coaches... yet they are in the SEC and while recruiting very well, they seem to be the ***** in production and player progression ability.
There is NO EXCUSE what happened today vs. UL, and EKU, and... it just isn't a U of L thing, it happens vs. crap teams, the 2nd half we lose control.. IMO that is coaching. Call me pissed or what not, I am sick of this ****.

There will be PLENTY of position coaches available this off season, what with like 20 openings for HC's all over the country. That is a lot of coaches scrambling to find a school to hook up with !

I don't disagree but the buyout would make it tough to get rid of Stoops. Not many guys earning their $$ on this staff. The recruiting success has been overstated/overrated compared to the success in the field. What is worse is when they get guys in they don't develop them. Tell me who has improved since getting here. I will hang up and listen.

I am not sure about the buyout situation, etc. I just wish we could have handled this hiring of a first time HC better. I mean, I thought if he had vetaran OC and DC it would make it a little better. Seems like he loses control after the 1st half of games. I realize also our talent level isn't 4 and 5 star laden like these other big big name teams like Bama, Auburn, Georgia, etc. but for the love of God above, can we please see SOME improvement in decision making. I hope this is just my clouded judgement being we lost a VERY VERY VERY disappointing game against our BIGGEST rival, but I am afraid where there is smoke there is fire.

Our recruits were not as talented coming out of HS During the Brooks era but they sure damn well looked like they were coached up. His teams would beat this one like a rented mule.

I wonder how many of our coaches on staff would be picked up by other fellow sec schools?? How many? 2?? Marrow and Ansley?
