Coach Lamb is not on the board so we are discussing amongst ourselves. I don't want to assume Coach Lamb knows everything that is wrong with TU. He doesn't know the areas or the hot beds in Texas and Louisiana. Coach does know Georgia, Tennessee and the Carolinas.

Are you sure those coaches know the hot spots in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Arkansas? How well will they do in recruiting against Baylor, Texas Tech and TCU in those hotspots? What are our chances against Texas State, Rice and UTSA near Austin? The hotspots don't always include DFW, Houston and Austin areas.

And we still haven't even hired 2 or 3 coaches yet. I'll let you do the research on these guys because I know we already HAVE the staff to recruit in these areas. I don't think you have been keeping up on the staff hires. Kam Martin & Ty Darlington have a stellar rep in recruiting these areas. So have Switzer and Franks. They were our best recruiters in those areas. You keep questioning this while the board is ecstatic with these hires. All of these guys have expertise in the areas we were talking about. The only guy on staff that doesn't have experience in those areas is Josh Reardon and the HC Tre Lamb.
So, Frank and Switzer are the only two coaches to recruit Texas? You need two coaches just to recruit DFW. I'm not questioning the coaching recruiting strategy. Coach Lamb, just don't have alot of time to waste to recruit Texas. There are some players in 3A and 2A he can't sleep on.
Kam Martin is from TEXAS.
Ty Darlington went to school at OU, worked at OU for 5 years & incarnate Word(Texas) for 2 years. He knows Texas & Oklahoma.
This unfinished staff is sleeping on nobody in Texas and Oklahoma He has four recruiters that know Texas well, and recruit the heck out of it. That's why half the players we are recruiting right now have ties to Texas. If all you could come up with is Switzer & Franks then you weren't looking very hard. All four of those coaches know the area of Texas & Oklahoma & have recruited the hell out of it. Thru talking bout this.

RJ made his point early, then kept making the same point over and over despite someone showing him, definitively, that RJs concern has been addressed aggressively. Then RJ decided to keep on the point. I suspect that G$ will cease when RJ steps back and concedes that TU has plenty of guys who can recruit TX and OK effectively
Hell, I'm from Texas, does that make me an experience recruiter? Ty Darlington and Kam Martin were just hired and they need to know what type of players coach Lamb prefer. What type of defense and offense they are implementing. There is more to recruiting than throwing coaches in an area. Now, Ty and Kam maybe tasked to recruit the Houston area since they have experience in South East Texas. Are the looking for a 6'2 300 DL, 6'4 250 DE or 6'1 160 DB with 4.4 speed. I hope you understand this, I'm that guy that gives tips to TU recruiters.
You will need more than 4 guys to recruit Texas. They have alot of driving to cover the state and the new guys coming in need to know the schemes their implementing and what body type they prefer. Coach Lamb been hired two weeks and his new experience recruiters/coaches are a week inside of being hired. Ty Darlington might keep the players he recruiting to go to Tulsa. Ty Darlington is in the Houston area. Anyone recruiting Longview, Carthage, Tyler Kilgore, Texarkana, Lufkin and Palestine?
Aww, who will recruit Oklahoma? Don't be mad. I have been tipping off TU recruiters for 15 years.
RJ also rushed for over 200 yards & 4 TDs in our 1991 Freedom Bowl win over Marshall Faulk & San Diego State in 1991.
