Most were super weak calls. I thought only 2 were legit.

The announcers and the rules expert guy seemed convinced that Palmer interfered on the long catch he had. I didn't see it that way. The ball was underthrown and he was trying to come back to it when the DB was running up on him. By their logic, he should have simply remained in front of the guy and took the defensive pass interference instead of making a play on the ball. I felt the same way when that Rutgers receiver got the BS offensive pass interference late in the game.

Of the 4 called, only the one in Volkolek was actually a penalty. The rest mostly consisted of a defensive back getting twisted around and the ref assuming there had to be offensive PI. There was almost zero contact on a couple of them.

I think Volechek’s was the only one remotely close to OPI. And that was away from the play, before the ball was in the air.

gronk made a hall of fame career out of plays like volechek. looked like the db just got in his pass route and they collided. not a pick, just a fight for a piece of realestate. that's football. guys will be flopping all over the field if you allow that to be pi. very questionable officiating all the way around last night

She was checking the QB’s package pre-snap. Or allowing the defense time to sub. One of the above might be true.

An offensive pass interference should basically call itself. That is not a penalty a ref should be "searching" for and all but one of those plays a non biased person watching the game would have been wondering to themselves why that call was being made.

They were all really bizarre calls. They actually made me feel uncomfortable.

These are the kinds of calls that give life to the Kevin Warren being biased conspiracy theorists.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that the thought of him instructing the refs to monitor and administer these kinds of penalties didn’t cross my mind.
