Virginia Tech is a vastly underrated basketball team. They're the kind of team that can get to an Elite Eight. They defend and can really, really shoot the rock. And they're playing well right now without their most important player.

Speaking of which, what is Justin Robinson's status? I don't follow them close enough to know. Is he going to be back for the tournament?

Last I heard they were "hoping" for him to be back for the tournament, but my guess would be he's not coming back until the second weekend.

Did we not beat UVA last season?

They just had a graphic that their ACC record over the last 2 seasons was 33-3 with 2 losses to us and one to VT. I thought we beat them last year.

Agree if they’ve got Justin Robinson playing. Otherwise, they’re just as likely to get beat the 1st weekend. Robinson makes them an Elite 8 team.

When I saw VT play at GT they were awful. Couldn't throw it in the ocean and let GT to the rim over and over again. They won by 1 I think. Vastly different then the VT team that beat us. On any given night who knows which VT will show up.

I guess the same can be said about us this year....ask Wake. o_O

We lost an absolute heartbreaker at home. Duval might have had the worst turnover ever late in that game. That's not why we lost, but the turnover was horrific.

That's a big loss for Syracuse. Luckily for them, they're safely in the NCAAT. No sense in risking further injury. They don't really have a whole lot to play for in this tournament.

Does Pitt win one more game?

Wow, that really stinks for Cuse. I always liked Battle. Heck of a college player.

Just saw the highlights of Zona v. USC (aka Chase Jeter v. Derryck Thornton). Both came off the bench and struggled to do much. But they still have a chance to showcase their talents in the NIT. I’m sure they would take that and the anonymity of PAC 12 ball over providing much needed senior leadership at Vegas title-favorite and media darling Duke University.

We saw Clemson score 42 points in the first half today against State, only to follow it up with 16 the last 20 minutes.

Now tonight, Pitt sat at 36 going into the half, and they’ve scored 15 the first 16+ minutes of half number two.

Amazing how teams can look so fluid one minute on offense, and then inept just moments later.

(All in all, I think a pretty successful first season for Capel at Pitt, all things considered.)

Man the officiating is so inconsistent. They let players beat and hack with no whistle and then out of the blue a phantom call from nowhere

Should be good ole' ACC games. I like Va.; Tough one to call, but I will take FSU; UNC (but they better not be looking ahead to Fri. night); and of course, Duke.
Go Duke!

I’ll admit, I’ve been a believer all season in Virginia. It’s not easy.

But there was another example of them just not being able to score in long stretches. They made three FGs and scored nine points in the final 12:15 of the first half after building an eight-point lead.

They seem to do this with regularity, but then they always seems to win by 15.

Any team with an athletic back court will give them fits. Still not a tournament believer in them.
