I just don’t know if Duke can make an adjustment. Boozer looks like a true freshman . Not like any top five pick Duke has had in the past . He’s got like 0 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist I mean I know it’s early but Texas is showing how to neutralize him .
Shey ol pal, you might want to cut back on the alcohol before and during the game.

I just watched the condensed replay since I have a busy work day and I couldn't watch at home live. Sluggish first half, but nice to see us bounce back in the second. It's encouraging to see Evans emerging as a key second year player. If he has a nice season, it will be a textbook example to convince other freshman that they can come back for a second or (gasp) third season and be successful. I was very happy to see Foster excel in the second half. He has the ability, he just needs consistency. Guard play continues to be my biggest concern, but it's still so early in the year. Nice win not in Cameron against another tournament level team! Next!

I’m pulling hard for Harris. Some how he’s got to gain some confidence and improve on defense. I’m afraid he’s going to be number 9 and not play much as the season progresses.

This is my thought as well. He seemed to struggle on defense. If he proves to be one of our only reliable shooters then perhaps he carves out more minutes but with Evans, Sarr (his shot looks good) and Khamenia shooting well AND playing good defense (Evans improved a ton), it may be hard.

Been a Duke fan all my life since the early 90's. I was at the game last night. The arena was rocking with Duke fans, I actually think the crowd and arena size made our guys a bit nervous to start out, thank god we settled in. Not surprising but it was probably 95%-5% Duke versus Texas fans.

-Evans was our best player last night and deserved MVP. We all knew he can get hot from 3, but I was most impressed with his cutting: he doesn't stop moving. He's put on some muscle too, a couple times I confused him with Sarr from my seats.
-Sarr was very impressive. That dude is looooooong, he's a bit raw offensively but you can see the potential and the reason NBA scouts love him so much. He is an elite perimeter defender and will only get better.
-Foster: I was most impressed that he didn't let his terrible first half impact his defense, he shut down Texas's main guy in the 2nd half.
-I love Big Pat but he needs to quit picking up silly fouls, he did the same in the UT scrimmage too.
-Maliq is Maliq. Elite defense and a great passer. Rinse repeat.
-I like Khamenia's herky-jerky style of game. He's behind Sarr defensively though I'd assume that's why he came off the bench. He made some nice passes and will have plenty of big scoring games for us.
-Smaller Boozer does a nice job of getting into the lane, he didn't do much last night but once the game slows down for him he will give us productive minutes.
-The hustle play Harris made early on was maybe my favorite play of the game. He's probably our 9th man and may get cut out of the rotation eventually, but he will be great insurance if one of our guards get hurt.

Great to get the early win. Now we get a few gimme-games before we get into the meat of the non-con schedule.
