I like OU’s team but I’m thinking Lane and his FAU group may be in for a looong season.

FAU will more than likely end up with a pretty good record, just like they did last year.

Offense and defense looked awesome today. Probably the best played opening game by the Sooners in several years.

FAU wasn't that good a year ago even with a 10-3 record. Looking at their schedule this year, I can see another winning season...but playing weak competition each year won't elevate any team to upper tier status.

Great performance, but not sure how good the Owls are.

Let's say we're as dominant next week against UCLA...then I'll get REALLY excited.
I have yet to see UCLA picked any higher than 5th in the Pac-12 South, so I'm not sure I'd get all that giddy with that one. Army looks like they're rebuilding too, so that marquee OOC win that gave us a ton of cred last year probably isn't going to happen, which is why Auburn winning today is a good thing. If UW was able to pull that one off, they'd have had that big OOC win that we're probably not going to have, which, considering that the B12 & Pac-12 are pretty much considered the bottom 2 P5 conferences, would've gone a good way towards the Huskies favor.

UCLA lost it's starting QB and got beat by Cincinnati pretty bad. We should win that one pretty easily. Iowa State will be a test in a couple weeks. Team we lost to at home last year. We'll be traveling there and they will be ready for us. That won't be an easy game.

Pac 12 basically needs Stanford to win out to have any chance at a playoff and I'm not sure I see that happening. Stanford's QB play just isn't good enough yet. They'll lose a game or two because of that.

OU/TCU/WVU are probably all gonna be top 10 type teams going forward. It'll be interesting to see where Oklahoma State is against Boise in a couple weeks. Iowa State as I already posted is probably right there with Oklahoma State. The rest of the Big 12 is garbage. Kansas lost again and may pull out 1 win. They should fire that coach now. Kansas State had to come back to beat South Dakota. Texas and Texas Tech speak for themselves.

Frozen don't get me wrong OU should roll ucla, but they didn't lose pretty bad to cincy. In fact the total yardage was almost exactly the same.

With 5 minutes to go in the game and down less than a TD, Chip Kelley goes for it on 4th and 3 inside UCLA’s own 45. Cincinnati holds and scores a TD with less than 2 minutes to play. Game over. Kelley is like that guy in the insurance commercial that throws his wallet in the canal. He probably regrets that call. Okay with me. I’ve never liked him.

I want to see the defense play great back to back games. Last year we played a couple of descent defensive games. Now I want to see them sustain that play

After literally ten defensive snaps, the TV color guy said this year's version of our defense was better than last year's, which I thought was a little silly (because how can you tell after ten snaps), but was still nice to hear.

Then, all game long, they went on and on about this year's defense was tackling better, better disciplined, was more technically sound, and even "felt different".

They've got my hopes up now 8085sooner, but like you, I want to see it two or three weeks in a row before I really believe it.
