I could care less about the ACC tournament at this point. Put everyone in bubble wrap and get ready for the tournament. At very worse with a loss on Thursday, Duke is second 1 seed.

Hoping for the best for Foster. It would be terrible for the young man if he is indeed out for the season. And while he isn’t a primary scorer or defender he is our only upperclassman and his leadership would be sorely missed in the later rounds of the NCAAs. He really has been playing well recently, knows his role and is contributing!

I think if Pat played last night we win by 30+. But take the win.

I thought Jon should have gotten one more big who could play spot minutes and/or one more guard who could score.

Evans is not as reliable as Kon for some reason, his play will be the difference maker down the stretch.

Nik, Darren and Cayden seriously have to step up their games and lock in. I understand they are freshmen but they have to contribute more than the single digit stat lines they usually put up.

Hoping CFos can make it back for the final 4 weekend, maybe give us 10-15 minutes?
Hopefully we don’t have to face a guard led team like Alabama, Kansas or Houston.

Cayden will help soften the blow and all he’s ever done has won- at every level. He’s a big guard and we are lucky to have him. Pat is the one that we cannot afford to lose.

It’s the depth now without Foster that will be hard to overcome. Cayden will have to give 35 mpg, which he can do but thin at lead guard. Getting Pat back in two weeks will help alot so the Caleb situation isn’t a death sentence, but it certainly isn’t ideal. Dame take out the other teams best 1-3 and Maliq takes out one front court player so having the two best defenders in the conference really helps mask alot.

Guys have to play smarter in their absence. Evans and Brown both got in foul trouble last night. I fear we are too thin though without Caleb and Pat to withstand a physical, grinding game deep in the tournament.
The good news is we have Cam, who may be the best college player I’ve ever watched. This kid is just special.

Let’s pray we can get them back by the 2nd round of the ncaa tournament.

Staying healthy seems to be crucial to tournament success. I know Boozer came back just in time in 2001.
I laughed when Sarr protested that travel. Dude took 3 giant steps. Him playing well is the silver lining.

This will give Harris more burn too and I think he’s played a lot better the last few weeks.

Does anyone know how he was used in HS? He is obviously a good shooter, but he he handle the rock?

I’m not doubting who we have, but we are down two very important players, and are now very thin. Jon may have to sprinkle in zone from time to time.

Without Foster, I would not be shocked to see Jon have Cam bringing the ball up and initiating offense. Cam and Flagg are two different players, but Jon had Cooper bringing the ball up some last year. You heard it here first! :)

Last season was a luxury because you had Proctor, James, Flagg or Kon that could bring the ball up and that's not even counting Foster. This team has Foster Cayden Boozer, Cam Boozer and that's about it. Perhaps in the Emergency situation you could have Nik, but I wouldn't want that.

Jon is supposed to have a press conference later today. Let's hope he'll have some positive info on Caleb🤞🤞
So much speculation out there it will be nice to get an update but it does seem like it will be bad news in Caleb. It sounds like Pat is fine and holding him out of the ACC is precautionary, which I agree with, but it would be nice for Jon to say he’s okay and will be a full go come later next week.

I get Caleb but don't really understand Pat. He was game time decision Saturday. Now he won't play until a couple weeks after? My thought of game time decision is the player would be back in the next game or two. I know the end goal is a national championship, but just a thought.

As I said, I think everyone knew Saturday this was the news. Knew it right away.

My bigger concern from Jon’s comments today are around Pat. It sounded like Saturday he was ready to go, and was just held out with an abundance of caution. Now, he’s saying the hope is to just get him back at some point for NCAA tournament.

Not good at all if Pat misses time, even in that first weekend. What a sh*t update to get. If Pat is not ready, this news 100% chances everything. Just really hoping Pat gets back next Thursday/ Friday.

I have confidence that Cayden can run things. My issue is when he needs a breather or moreso if he gets into foul trouble. We had 3 guards last year and will have 3 next year. Why we couldn't have 3 this year? Smh. This sucks big time

Our prayers should be that Ngongba can indeed make it back and be healthy. I'm not confident at all though that Foster will. So for Duke to stay as a strong contender to win it all? Jon may have to play zone some to protect foul issues, and Cayden's role is now huge.

We also now need Harris and Khamenia to contribute.

He’ll be back final four- till then lil Booz going to show out. As for Pat I still think it’s an out of caution thing. ACC tourney gives us a killer 3 game potential to mess with lineups and get guys in positions to do things they haven’t been able to do. Great dress rehersal

Go Duke!

Just listened word for word to Jon’s presser. I’m sure my boss loved that lol. After really listening, makes me a little more hopeful on Pats situation. I know most will say we don’t need him for the first round, but I disagree and think we indeed need him for multiple reasons.

I also honestly wouldn’t mind us not making a run in the ACC tournament. We simply cannot have one more injury.

"His thing is not at all like Caleb's," said Scheyer when asked about Ngongba's diagnosis. "Our mindset is to get him ready for the NCAA tournament. That's the priority. That's our focus. We're going to get him right where he's ready to join us when we go for the real thing here in the NCAA tournament. But we're not going to play him. He's going to be out this week, get him some rest, get him recovered, and then join us back."

Foster also is a decent 3 point shooter and his size is a factor on the defensive side. And his maturity and experience is another big factor that will be missed.

Just a terrible loss for us. Really dampens my hopes, as solid as Cayden is— we will miss Foster’s play.

barring injury, i do think we need to make a run in the acct to get the guys use to life w/o cfos and get roles established

Yes really reading between the lines, it sounds like Pat is a go. I just hope it’s for the first round. Cannot take any chances in the tournament and since he’s a big man, gives him a game to get back into shape.

Anyone else get a sick feeling in their stomach when Caleb went down and ultimately didn’t even care about the rest of the UNC game??

For Caleb- would obviously love to get him back for the final 4. What we will miss the most is his 40% three point shooting, Cayden is 29% with an ugly shot. However, the metrics do say that Cayden is actually a better perimeter defender than Caleb. Not sure I agree with that, but the numbers say defensively we will be fine without Caleb.

We must have Pat back by the 2nd round IMO. His value is immense mainly because we are thin up front. If Pat is back by next weekend, I think we can still make a final 4.

Not that there's ever a good time for injuries, but the timing here is awful. Jon had two 3 man rotations between Evans, Cayden, Foster, and the big man rotation of Cam, Brown, and Ngongba. Add in Sarr and Khamenia, and we were really clicking. We are now too thin down low to withstand foul trouble.
Evans, Sarr, and especially Brown, are going to have to be really careful now. We don't have that luxury with Pat out. They are too valuable to be picking up cheap fouls. It's why I think Jon will have to play some zone.

Yep, definitely put a damper on the win. The second Caleb went down my heart sunk.

Many teams are dealing with key injuries, and certainly Duke has a long history of impactful injuries. To me, the timing for these two is just a gut punch. Literally the last regular season game?? Ugh. I think we need Pat back at full strength to make a deep run. Without him, Cam is gonna get doubled by twin trees from the S16 onward. Without Foster, our margin of error just gets really thin in the backcourt. Cayden is going to have to step up bigtime, and he has shown he can be strong with the ball. I fully expect to see Cam bringing the ball up too. I don't want to see Harris, Evans or Khamenia with the ball in their hands. If that happens, I think we are a big trouble.
