The good news is I honestly believe even as constructed we can beat just about any non top 8 teams or so. So I could see a run to the sweet 16 or elite 8 depending on matchups or upsets.

Yep, especially against a guy like Sears. Imagine Bama playing a healthy us without a PG and 2-3 of their other best players.
We should not waste any more scholarships on ceremonial players. If a Kentucky boy is a marginal player, he should walk on or go to WKU. Pope has pulled off miracles for most of this season winning games by hiding players who are only on the floor because we have no other choices. I started a thread earlier that we should forfeit the game to avoid more injuries and to allow our guys to rest before the big dance. At the time, I wasn't serious about it, but maybe the team should have.

Oh yeah I know. It just sucks. I could have handled a 10-14 point loss. Respectable is all I wanted. This was a beating.
In Pope I trust! A whole off season with him will pay dividends. But we still have games to play so keep your heads up folks. We're over this meat grinder of a league. We just didn't have the horses. It's basically a throw away year. The fact we've done what we did coupled with the injuries and will be a three seed is just nothing short of extraordinary. Pope deserves our respect and admiration.

If Perry couldn't shoot, but was quick enough to breakdown defenses for assists, his scoring wouldn't be needed. Since he isn't quick enough to penetrate anyone's defense, he needs to be able to shoot and so far he hasn't scared anyone with his shooting.
As for Sears, Sears wasn't as unathletic as Perry when he was 10. So that is a bad comparison. Perry will never be as good as Mark Sears.

Maybe not. Sears is a great player. Now. As a freshman he averaged 8 points a game in the MAC conference. Everyone including me was fed up with one and done mercenaries who had no attachment to UK or the state. But now many of you seem to want instant gratification. It doesn’t work that way with most freshman. In time I think Perry will become a valuable college player. I can tell you i’d rather watch him bust his *** and experience growing pains than watch Shaedon Sharpe sit on the bench in sweats.
We're hamstrung athletically but we have a lot of heart. No shame in getting boat raced by Bama considering where we are. Probably the best I've seen them look all season against us and Auburn. Those guys are a legit team to cut the nets.
This game did us no favors. In hindsight, we might have been better off losing last night by one instead of getting hammered by 29 tonight. A 29 point loss isn't the way you want to go into selection Sunday.
No doubt about that. I am just saying we are Kentucky and we should field teams that don’t get boat raced by anyone. Now do I think we would have healthy? No way. But I expected us to show that heart and stay in a game somewhat.

Correct. But it reared its ugly head tonight because we're out of guys who can win you ballgames that haven't been beaten up. Before, it was one guy hurt, and another one coming back. Now, they seem like they're dropping like flies.

Deadest UK crowd I’ve ever seen at the SEC tournament. Not that there was much to cheer about.

You can either play or you can't sign Reed Sheppard. I recall some on this board comparing Perry to Shep. There is no comparison, and they are both Kentucky "white boys." Shep would have easily been one of the best players on the court last night as a freshman, so stop playing the race card because you fail.

Perry was a turnstyle. Alabama went by him at will. He turned the ball over constantly and got abused on damn near every Alabama possession.

For sure. We did seem to quit tonight. I'm sure a lot of factors played into that. Late game last night, probably little sleep. Bama fresh and without a doubt the better team. Bama throws athletic shot makers at you in spades. We have very few athletes much less shot makers. We'll get there. Looking forward to the Big Dance. We can win some games there. It may be harder to win this league tournament. Never seen anything like it.
I hope every team in conference gets beat game one next week outside of us obviously.

Second of all, Perry had 11 total points and they weren't all in the 1st half.
Third thing, Perry is the main reason we were down big at halftime, then he was an even bigger reason why we lost by 30. Carr and Williams kept us in the game, Perry didn't do **** but get blown by.
I would be willing to bet Perry was a net -25 tonight. We lost by 29, but you think he played well? Did you watch the game? I'm guessing you didn't.

And Ihm not 'routing" Perry, what I said is the truth. Figure it out. Pope played Perry 30 minutes. That's 20 minutes too long. Perry can't guard anybody on Alabama, but Pope kept him out there.
Your issue is, you obviously don't know the game, but you want to attack people that do know the game and are telling it like it is.
Don't try to spin it, you think Perry did great because he scored 11 pounts, that's what you said. that told me everything I needed to know. Yeah, he scored 11, but he gave up about 50. Do you understand what that means?
