Really? The only choices are LA wins? I hope the guys at Loyola aren't taking this game as lightly as everyone else seems to be.
Candidly, I did not see the Loyola coaches in the visitor stands last night at HF. (Admittedly, they could have been on the Home side. But it was pretty packed over there, and it seems odd that they would have been sitting with the HF fans.)
It looked pretty clear to me that HF got the wake-up call it needed from Bolingbrook. HF literally ran circles around New Trier last night (not that LA is New Trier). HF's offensive line is huge, and is every bit as big as LA's defensive line. And the Harley-Hampton twins, as well as the HF receivers, can flat-out fly. I don't know if Loyola's defensive backs and linebackers can keep up. I'm not sure they've been tested like these guys.
From what I saw last night (and have seen on the cube and read), HF's defense is very small. It's fast, but small. Loyola should be able to pound the ball up the middle.
But if Loyola thinks they are just going to walk onto that field next Saturday and it's going to be over, they'll have another thing coming.
I think the game will be close. And I do think Loyola will pull it out in the end. But I think it is almost offense to make it seem like HF doesn't even have a chance to win this game.
Really? The only choices are LA wins?
well, it is the official poll.
I know, I know. I guess I was just looking for something that started an actual conversation that talked about what looks to be a really good football game. Instead, it's more of the same stupid stuff - basically all stemming from the fact that one idiot has turned an entire board against a team.
(By the way, thanks for the heads up in the other post on the JCA-Naz game. Image how dumb we all would have looked if we had shown up in LaGrange looking for that game. We can always count on you for those public service announcements!)
None of the above as I will take HF.
I think HF' s offense, as good as it is, gets a major wakeup call from Loyola 's defense (you don't have to worry about them flying around if they're on their butts).HF will get their points, but not more than 28. Now, Loyola ' s offense will have a strong game against a highly overrated HF defense. I'm guessing 42. There you have it...42-28.
I like Loyola's offense against HF's defense, because HF just is too small to stop Loyola. But I'm not sure about Loyola's defense stopping HF. How does Loyola hold HF to 28?
A fire danger? Is the field flammable?[QUOTE Candidly, I did not see the Loyola coaches in the visitor stands last night at HF. .
Doesn't HF regularly find excuses to keep visitors out of the stadium? When too many outsiders show up, don't they claim a fire danger? That's the complaint I've heard over the years. They pulled something hinky with Stevenson early in the 2014 season, too.
I could give a damn about.....I just support LA in this week's matchup to get Holocek into the Illini HC conversation. In my convoluted logic regarding state playoff rooting interest, Loyola Academy would be my least liked team. Usually would root for a public south suburban team over a private AND north suburban team 999 out of 1,000 times.I am wondering if this is the most board support Loyola has ever gotten going into a game. We all know who they are playing and why the overwhelming support is here.
