Secondary was supposed to be a strength of this defense. They couldn't cover postage stamp with a bed sheet.

this will be like last year’s USC game … all the dramatic over-reactive trolls came out to bash the team early. By the end of the game, it was awfully quiet. For some reason, they didn’t want to celebrate PSU’s success.

They called the PI on 3rd-&-12 but didn't call the beyond obvious hold that even allowed the pass - go figure.
Sure that helped execute it, but the simple play design in the situation was smart. PSU would have put Allar at WR and let singleton throw it to Sutton.
About as expected other than letting the best receivers in the country get behind the secondary. Playing hard just overmatched.
