The 4-2-5 is Knowles scheme, along with many other defenses these days.
For years I have moaned that Franklin does not go out and get big, slow, 320lb, 3-star defensive lineman to do one thing… plug the A@B gaps.

I know, but if he had 3 1st round picks at LB he would have changed it. We have no depth or quality at the position, so stick with 4-2 and hide the problem.
This D just lacks difference makers this year. 33 is a nice player, but not at Carter’s level.

Is any defensive unit that has had more offsides in last few years than PSU?
At this point the scheme is really hurting us without Rojas. A 2 lb scheme works at osu where the depth is there. I think we need to put an athlete like Arrington in there to be the spy. It literally cannot go worse than this.
