Offseason discussion about PSU's 2024-25 Lineup

174 Facundo or Zach Ryder, 184 Josh Barr, 197 Connor Mirasola, or Lucas Cochran OR portal(s).
MUST keep Kerk and Carter for their last season. Big donors gotta come up big. We’ll crush the all times point record with SVN back too.
You must be a blast at a party or at any gathering of two or more breathing people.
Or: Cochran gets to eat and either we import a 197 or Mirasola starts.
We should know soon about whether Carter and Kerk will be returning-if they have not met with Cael yet they will soon. I bet we know by middle of May if not sooner. Some of the weighs will be very competitive which you would expect. And guys like Levi who have gotten tired of cutting so much weight will move up . And there is always the variable of younger guys like Lilledahl who may be still growing. Sounds like we are re-loading, not re-building but if Carter moves on NO team has previously lost two 4 time champs the same year.
No, but no team has ever been able to lay claim to even dealing with that possibility until now.

I can’t see a starting lineup that doesn’t include Josh Barr- whether at 184 or 197. I think Connor Mirasola could go if needed, but will redshirt if Starocci comes back.

Carter should get on with MMA. He has zero to prove at the college level and has a ton of work to do to get good enough to compete in freestyle.
Kerk should come back, if he wants to keep working toward winning the next Olympic spot. Lift Train, rinse repeat.
The rest of the lineup…….other than Bartlett at 141, should have plenty of opportunities to sort itself out. Levi probably gets what weight he wants. Then let the battles begin

Agree. He wrestled up a class this year from his more natural 141 lbs. Another jump up in class doesn't seem logical unless he had a real growth spurt where he adds substantial "good" weight. Can it happen? Sure, it can happen. Bo Nickal wrestled three different classes, as an example. Then there's Kyle Dake... Those tend to be the exception.
This is what I'm thinking. With Lilledahl and Bearclaw being the maybes and Starocci at 197
