He is extremely raw but his potential is real. The dude has no issues throwing his big body around. Lots of work to do but a project worth developing.
Give him some metal on his thumb and id call him Ernie Ladd.Between last game and tonight, he almost reminds me of the Hanson brothers.
Unless it's an alley oop so is CliffUnfortunately he’s a liability on offense. He’s just too uncoordinated to be a D1 player.
Watch him run the court, fight for rebounds, etc. Yes he needs to work on this hands and his offense but he is a tremendous athlete and many D1 schools would take him in a second.Unfortunately he’s a liability on offense. He’s just too uncoordinated to be a D1 player.
He had 8 points on 4 shot attemptsUnfortunately he’s a liability on offense. He’s just too uncoordinated to be a D1 player.
He’s more coordinated than Cliff.Unfortunately he’s a liability on offense. He’s just too uncoordinated to be a D1 player.
Agree. But I’m honestly not sure Ogbole can complete an alley oopUnless it's an alley oop so is Cliff
Probably better for him than a bounce pass, although he did grab one today and smoothly converted a layup. Also had a 3-point play.Agree. But I’m honestly not sure Ogbole can complete an alley oop
Jay Young next year......A real good offensive fundamental coach makes him good two years from now. We don't have that guy.
So does Cliff!!He did a lot better than I thought. Needs to work on his hands every day the rest of his career.
He does play with a level of physicality. They need to work on the offensive game with him, his hands, shooting, etc.. But he is a big dude with a large wingspan. I actually thought he would look worse. They need a starting big in the portal but with another year and some progress, Ogbole may be able to give 10-12 minutes as the backup.yep more willing to put his body on the line than cliff. I am pleasantly surprised
I think the guy is extremely courageous, given that he’s never played basketball before this season. To try to learn how to play while doing it in a top conference is extremely impressive! He is extremely raw but his potential is real. The dude has no issues throwing his big body around. Lots of work to do but a project worth developing.
Hey Phil,Give him some metal on his thumb and id call him Ernie Ladd.
Now he never played basketball until this season?I think the guy is extremely courageous, given that he’s never played basketball before this season. To try to learn how to play while doing it in a top conference is extremely impressive!
Manos de piedrasNeeds to work on his hands every day the rest of his career.
Thread hijack alert:Hey Phil,
I remember watching Ernie Ladd shockingly transform from a good guy to a villain in the 1960"s
Zap- if Ogbole played TE for Schiano , would Wimsatt overthrow him too? (Ouch)GS should entice him to play Defensive End in the spring just for the hell of it
I’d like to say Tight End but there’s no way he could play offense with those hands.

I remember Ernie Ladd more from the 70s. The taped up thumb was classic. One time he was in a tag team match. After beating the crap out of the other two guys, after they were declared the winners, he started beating up his partner. I was laughing so hard. Can't remember what I had for dinner last night but I'll remember that vividly forever.
You can do drills to work on it. The problem is with many foreign athletes who play soccer is that they didn't grow up throwing and catching balls the way American kids do with football baseball basketball so it's hard to catch upQuestion for group, can you teach hand coordination or is it just a physical reality (good or bad). Whether it is a lose ball or pass from a guard on dribble drive (short range), Cliff and Ogbole rarely come up with it (oddly, on longer passes/alley oop Cliff is fine). Can this be taught or is it innate eye/hand coordination reality? Could it be an eye sight issue?
Strength is also trainable. Hand and fingersYou can do drills to work on it. The problem is with many foreign athletes who play soccer is that they didn't grow up throwing and catching balls the way American kids do with football baseball basketball so it's hard to catch up
Ogbole doesn't have a stength problemStrength is also trainable. Hand and fingers
No idea if he has strong hands and grip. Do you?Ogbole doesn't have a stength problem
This is a very interesting theory, and I suspect you're right. You can do drills to work on it. The problem is with many foreign athletes who play soccer is that they didn't grow up throwing and catching balls the way American kids do with football baseball basketball so it's hard to catch up
