Well I mean that's one of the only things Cal ever harped that made sense to me.
I've seen personally UK sell out arenas for opposing teams. They'll be sold out for UK when every other game had 10k people there .... But UK is a sell out. Maybe not so much anymore because quality of conference is up at a pretty good high, but in years past no one cares if they weren't playing UK. Everyone had to jump on the bandwagon the night the wildcats came to town. Next game would be 3/4 empty.
Also how many teams have played out of their minds and then play like pure garbage next game? It's the Kentucky effect and that part is true even if it was a egotistical morons favorite excuse aside from youth.

I feel like I remember Pitino using this phrase back in the 1990s, long before Cal. Maybe not, but it's been around a while.
Sad note is that in latter part of Cals tenure we didn't win that "super bowl" quite often. Now are better times it appears

Meh, let’s not start pretending CBP somehow originated that saying. Coaches and players across all sports have been using it for decades.

I moved to Opelika/Auburn 7 years ago. I am so pissed that Pearl has them humming. I was hopeful I would be in a good spot to be able to watch one game a year live. Now, they are not even playing twice a year and it is very expensive to watch a game in Auburn.
It is an awesome experience if you get in though. I don’t believe it even holds 10k. They are building a new one though. Hopefully Pearl leaves and I can get tickets
