OK it's time...Sooner vs Dawg prediction thread

I've been under the weather for the past week w/ Baker like flue crap. Anyway, I've tried to chime in on some of the threads here & there and keep up w/ the board. I did not see a thread on our predictions, so I thought I'd start one.

I think it's going to be the biggest test of the season for the Sooner offense. Georgia's defense matches up well w/ the offense but I think that OU will win out on this battle and pull away by or in the 4th qtr. I think we'll see the Georgia offense roll up some yardage and even points on the Sooner defense but there will be at least one defensive TD and one KEY stop that plays a big role in the game. Endurance will be a factor and I just don't see the Georgia defense keeping up with the offense for a full four quarters.

I believe that the this edition of the Sooners is a team of destiny, and it will take much more than a fine team from Georgia to take them down.

I don't want their fans to think I'm dissing them, but I can't undo how I feel.

Reasoning:

I don't believe that a power running team like Georgia will stray far against OU from what has been a winning formula: they want to run OU into the ground. In the process they control the clock, thereby preventing the Sooners from running up a big score (which is certain death for any OU opponent). The problem in that process is that these Sooners are determined to show the world that they are a much better defensive team than what others say.

This Sooner defense feels very disrespected by the talking heads because they know that the storyline is not true.

I don't think that the Dawgs can control the clock against the Sooners, not that it truly matters. It doesn't mean a lot if you run 6-7-8 minutes off the clock only to have the other team score in a blink to put your offense back on the field. That's the trademark of this team. They hit you so hard and fast that you don't realize the trouble that you are in until it's too late to do anything about it.

Watch and see.
