Walked into Copperhead today in Prestonsburg. I was surprised to see as many pistols, shot guns, rifles, and ammunition. Nice place. May go back tomorrow and buy something. Shew.

I've saw signs that said Copperhead was under new management. You know if BC still owns that place? He's a great guy.

I'm getting my concealed carry permit next month. I have to wait until the 15th to get my fingerprints taken and I have to go all the way to Cordyon because the place closest to me is booked up for several months.

I really like the Sig P365 SAS...the sights are different but once you’ve practiced with it, it’s pretty intuitive.

I just ordered a Wilson Combat AR from Whittaker’s...should be available for pickup tomorrow the day after.

In regard to ammo...talk to people who work in the stores and find out when their trucks arrive...be there when they do

Wilson Combat is good stuff. I'll wait till things calm down, but I'm wanting to go small with my next AR. Bravo, Daniel Defense, Sig, etc. They all have very small .300 platforms that are really impressive. I just don't know if I want to build again or just buy a pre-made product.

I've always been intrigued by the concept of an AR "pistol" but it seemed like a pain in the *** keeping up with ATF regs and/or applying for a tax stamp for an SBR. Would be interested to hear how you go with it.

The short answer to trying to keep up with the ATF regs is to NOT BOTHER TRYING. The ATF has a habit of changing their minds on a whim.

As far as an SBR........if you put a "AR forearm brace" known as a "pistol brace" on a short barreled AR then you don't need a tax stamp. For a while the ATF basically considered this as if you were buying a pistol. Just recently there has been some waffling on this position (i.e. The Honey Badger Battle from the ATF, but as of right now there is no tax stamp on a braced AR.

Got the Wilson Combat today...weighs 6 lbs 1 oz. Much lighter than my other AR’s. I put an Eotech on it...sweet setup. My Daniel Defense feels like it weighs twice as much (it doesn’t)

Nice. I've got a DDM4 V7 LW. It's got a 16" lightweight profile barrel. It weighs 6.05 lbs (6 lbs .8 ounces) according to DD. That's without the iron sights, Vortex scope, and m-lok bipod adapter.

Awesome...I have the DDM4 too but with a Leupold Police scope on it. Motion sensor turns on the lighted optic when I pick it up. My Core 15 is the most accurate rifle I own pending the Wilson’s first range trip

i don’t even own a gun at the moment. Just figured I may as well get the permit. Also my girlfriend is armed and loaded

Well if you come across one at a fair price go ahead and buy.....and carry. You don't need the permit to carry open or concealed. Go ahead and practice......learn.......get more comfortable......the permit is just a formality.
