Brother it doesn't make me miserable. I'm just fed up after being a UK football fan for 30 plus years. Still love all teams UK.... But the coach frustrates me. I know stoops has done better than many previous coaches here, I've said he is a good recruiter. I want the next level now man, that's all.

I respect that I really do. I want it bad too, but my momma always instilled if it's good it's worth waiting for!

Look Stoops gives us no schematic advantage.. he doesn't seem like a great motivator

Best he can ever do is 6 wins @ UK

you don't have facts, you have opinion. it could just have easily been the case that opponents were not as good rather than you got better. there is a difference. you are entitled to your opinion on which it was. but don't call it a fact.

Yes it is a known fact that the SEC is down. But UK has been down longer and has proven to be progressing in the right direction. Even though most of the wins came against down teams. In the past UK would have found a way to give the games away.

i promise you, im not saying this to be a dick. we are all fed up with losing football for 30 years, our feelings are the same on that. but this program is getting better, that's clear as can be. after 30 years of mostly misery, if you cant see that and find some happiness in whats being built then you're likely never going to be happy. dont misunderstand, its not all cinnamon oatmeal. the florida game may have been a low point in my fandom. but when you look at the big picture, things are getting better. i feel bad that a long suffering fan such as yourself cant see that. have a happy sunday.

If you are only going to be happy at 12-0, you need to move on. I don't know how old you are, but I am old. I'm seeing the only real progress in this program that I've seen since the early 70's. We are building a real SEC team from the bottom up, and that takes time, real time, not 3-4 years. I hope you finally give up and move on before we get there, because I don't want you to be the one my son turns to hug in the stands when we win a national championship.

I'll take that 4 win bet.

I said it earlier man... I'm not gonna do that and cheer against my team. And I'm not trying to get out of it, I sincerely can't bet against my team and end up with a part of me wanting them to lose.

I will do this for yall that wanted the action. If we win more than 4 next year, I won't post on the FB board for an entire year. Y'all hate my posts, so I'm sure everyone will love that

I agree with you. Except the part about only progress since the 70s. There was progress made in the Brooks era. Brooks and company had this program headed in the right direction. Just to turnaround and have the Joker debacle.

and if he takes a step back, then he needs to dealt with. there is no way we should regress! our roster has basically no turnover!

The argument I would make and others who are watching more than the scoreboard, is 4 or 5 wins next year won't be a step back. Were extremely poor on fundamentals and Xs and Os, poorly coached, poorly motivated, and took advantage of the most down schedule well likely ever see in the SEC.

We wouldn't beat USCe today and Miss. St would be a tough win. Next year, those both swing to loses, candy and Mizzou are still probably wins. Next year.

AP would lose to the top 10-15 HS teams in the country.

Incredible how unhappy some people are.
Indeed. Honestly I don't think Stoops can ever win more than 8 but that's part of the process of building a program up. Before Stoops came here who would have seen that Kentucky could offer anything? Crap facilities, low tier stadium, fanbase that doesn't show up, terrible recruiting base, etc. Additionally, as "good" as Mitch Barnhart has been as an OVERALL AD he seems to only hire "classy" people. I don't think UK will ever see a coach that isn't classy in Mitch's eyes. We can complain about all of these factors but they are true and until MB leaves or retires we have to deal with what we have.

Stoops could pull a rabbit out of the hat as he continues to learn how to be a HC butb based off of what I have seen I'm thinking he won't be an elite coach but stranger things have happened. What I can say that I'm excited about: Stoops got the new facilities this program needed. Stoops got us to .500 in SEC play which in previous "down" years would never have happened. Stoops proved that you can recruit to a school like this. If he continues the streak of bowl games but cannot succeed past that then we hire a coach with real HC experience and swing for the fences once MB leaves/retires.

It's all about stepping stones and unless Jim Harbaugh walks through the door the whole "how can you all accept this losing mentality?" isn't going anywhere. Jim Harbaugh would laugh at a job like this. Bobby Petrino wanted the job but MB wouldn't interview due to his track record (and you can cry about it all you want but it's irrelevant)--and BP's current success is due to Lamar Jackson which would not have ended up at UK anyways. I can only hope that Stoops will not regress next year so that we can go to another bowl and continue to try and make this somewhat of a desirable place to coach and play at. If we do this, then we can have those 9, 10, or 11 win seasons.

Sure, an irrelevant bowl is great. It's partly that, cause the sec was so down this year, thought we should've won a few more, especially USM. But it's what's coming next year too man. Bet you anything we win no more than 4 games next year

How much is "anything"? Could be interested.[cheers]

Here we go, some pumpers have arrived... @JohnBlue_ I'm childish because I'm not concerned aboytvthe final score, only our crappy first half?? Great point, cause only that counts right. The game isn't made up of a whole is it?? This team is so horrible, any decent P5 team should beat them 30-0 in 1 quarter, so that arguement is foolish. Notice you didn't even come in this thread until the team started to actually play. Come out like that against our real opponents in the SEC and that kind of first half costs you a game. But keep preaching the final score argument, I've schooled you enough there I think. The while game absolutely matters.

@Xception tell us misguided fools about these impediments this job posses oh wise one.... Tell us how great the tradition and facilities and all the other crap excuses you're gonna use matter at Houston, UL, Wash St, Colorado, Duke, etc...

You sunshine pumpers are just wrong. Stoops isn't cut out to be a great HC and he has proved it time AMD time again. You can honestly watch and listen to coaches ans you can see, hear and understand what they might bring as a HC... And Stoops doesn't have the it and that bleeds over in the way this team plays

The SEC is as bad beyond Bama as I've ever seen it, thus our 4 big conference wins.

You can't make enough lame excuses for this coach. A lot of us fans arevtired of this ..we want to beat good teams, stop making stupid penalties game after game... We want to stop being a laughing stock. But the pumpers are happy with a crap bowl and beating no team worth a damn!! Makes no sense to me and never will.
No one in the country is any good. Are their any good teams in the NFL outside of the Patriots? I don't think you really understand. How many years have you been watching UK football? You do understand that Saban isn't coming here right? Stoops showed some progress this sason, he will be back next season, You may as well enjoy it and see what happens, or not, you can carry on being miserable, up to you.

I'm sorry. I dont care if we win 85-13
There is no reason to start like this... Unprepared, uninspired, I'm done with stoops for good. We need a real coach!!
I think the start to the game was Stoops giving the cry baby media and fans what they ask about all week; will so and so get playing time, will we get to see what Wright can do at QB, BLAA, BLAA, BLAA. Sometimes we just need to let the coaches coach!

so is it fact that 6 is better than 5? it is

UK has 2 1000 yards rushers for the first time ever! that's a fact and Progress

we are a young, very young if not the youngest team in CFB. we are

have certain teams regressed? yea some have, but to compete with a loaded UGA team, Beat Mizzou who has regressed but we were underdogs, beat Vandy (was ugly but a W is a w), beat Bowl bound USC (third straight year if im not mistaken). Tennessee may not be world beaters but we ran for 443 yards on them for crying out loud, when's the last time we did that.

my fact is the Gap is closing, the east may have been down but UKs talent is growing, now we need mass fundamental progress on defense.

another fact most defenses play better when they have time to rest on the sideline, say because of an offense that chews up clock and two of the better backs statistically in country!
again, you may be confusing change in results with change in ability. improved results can be because you improve or your competitors get worse, or some of both. you have an opinion on what it is. enjoy your opinion. leave facts to the experts

Vandy this year, USC this year, MSU this year, Mizzou this year. all games we could have easily lost or laid down, but we won!
Went to Mizzou game...people$$$$$ there are totally pissed at the admin. for giving in to all the PC BS that went on there last year. That program is a mess right now. Great folks though, really nice to us... Watched Vandy-Miss game last night and they looked really good. Hope they can beat the filthy organs next week.

He already said that "anything" doesn't mean "anything." ;-)

PS - many on here need to learn how to respectfully debate because once you start throwing insults out there, you lose credibility of being mature enough to debate with good points. Nobody is going to listen to you and your side if you insult them... just sayin'....

Lastly, some on here are walking a fine line; not because of your opinion, but because of how you are expressing it. Clean it up, felas.

I'm gonna surprise you and agree with most of your post here. I guess I'm just more impatient than you. I also see next years schedule, couple that with stoops weaknesses, and I think we sadly take a step back next year

Just for the record, how do you see the schedule as being tougher next season, we are trading Bama for Ole Miss, Austin Peay for EKU and New Mexico St. for Eastern Michigan. We get UF, Ewe Tee, Mizzou, Ole Miss and UL at home. So I would say that schedule stacks up better than this years for a successful run in the conference again.
