Izzac got screwed on headgear and all the cautions but at the end of the day he lost because he couldn’t score. Bummer.
We’re seeing us wrestle like the favorites more and more. No urgency for Izzac until it was too late

Olejnik lost 5 to 1 to Hall. He needed to be more aggressive like he was in the 3rd period where he almost had a couple of takedowns.

Haas lost 5 to 0 because he has no balance. His opponent used heavy hands and Haas lost his balance and gave up the takedown. Also, he was rode out in the 3rd period. He tries hard, is strong but lacks natural wrestling ability.
He’s wrestled one match though. Has plenty left to use. Maybe not worth burning in case something more significant happens to Luke I guess.
He wrestled against Wyoming & Pitt.

That’s the first time this season where Olejnik looked outmuscled. His strength is his speed, quickness, and length…which bodes well for Carr.

Alvarez needs to put on a lil size and settle into the new weight class. He was thrown to the wolves this weekend up a weight against two ranked opponents and todays the #9 guy. seemed to have established a very form foundation this weekend.
Alvarez earned more mat time he scrambles well got off bottom against a tough rider… that said he needs more offense and say again that wasn’t backs!
I think he looks fine. Homer ref today mainly only had big impact in Olejnik and Alverez matches. He was slow to call takedowns, came up with some phantom stall calls and then the headgear call in O's match. He let Hall hold the foot for 20+ seconds on the edge with no stalemate and then as soon as O circled back around he stopped it and they weren't out. But on the road with a homer you gotta score first.
The ironic thing about this ref and that headgear call was that he was the ref in Daton’s finals match where Suriano grabbed the headgear and was a no call
If that dual has a different ref we only lose the Haas match.

Izzac has wrestled more and more conservatively the last few matches since his ranking soared to #2 and to me it's looked like he has been more wrestling not to lose than to win. Hopefully this is a nice wakeup call and he gets back to wrestling like he did earlier in the year

Jk. You’re welcome in. As I’ve said before, we are all rooting for him to prove our fall takes wrong. So far I’m definitely impressed and just hope he continues to look a little sharper as he gets more mat time.
