I’d be fine seeing all new 133 through 157 next year.
Pretty typical but who cares if we can’t score. Jamison had leg in air and nothing. Made his 1 shot count.
Lower weights are definitely questionable.
Well it’s been multiple years of the same thing with both TJ and CY. They may have hit their ceilings, blood round talent. I mean they’ve been coached by JS and DT and still look the same. Hope they both peak in March.
Really disappointing in that Troy started horrible and finished okay. Started dominating in the middle of the match but the domination ended the last minute of the 3rd period when he needed score fast and didn't score at all. Got a major though. Reece really had a bad 30 seconds giving up 7 points. and fought off getting majored. Jamison again does nothing where he had 1 good shot but couldn't finish. Tagen did nothing the whole weekend. Carter of course loses and only gets 2 escapes. I don't see any development in fact our wrestlers at these weight classes are regressing.
157 - Fish drops a 4-2 decision. 4 matches in a row with no offense.

We won 125 and lost everything else. Basically taken three shots in the final 4 matches.
Man that was bad call. Reaction time is tricky but that hand was on the mat for a while. Would have likely gotten riding time too…
Fish was robbed. Chittum used his hand to get up there. That’s a takedown.
I don’t think anyone 133-149 (or 157) will have a guaranteed starting spot next year. I don’t know if the problem is between their ears or in the room, but they’ve flat out crapped the bed just like this time last year. Disappointed but not panicking by any means.
Its good to get these kind of losses out of the way before Big 12 and NCAAs. But the direction the lower weights are going is not good.
Guys might have been wrestling better at this time last year, hopefully big 12s and ncaas are the goal
How many of our wrestlers can find a way to lose with Fish losing a close decision. That is 3 straight matches without a takedown. Fish gets around for a possible takedown but can't hold that position for even 1 second and so after the challenge no takedown and we lose. We can still come back. I remember the pre-weekend Flow tape where our wrestlers kept indicating a want to wrestle and just have fun. I hope they are having fun because I sure am not. This was a poor time to have a thread about how Taylor is doing, and he is certainly not reminding anyone of Cael and his staff. Our transfers will likely win this dual, I hope.
Looks similar to when Smith used to hammer the guys in practice and they didn't have much for the matches. Some use the terms training threw the matches. I'm going to trust David Taylor.
Good thing we have Murders' Row coming up (165-HWT).
